My arms and leg muscles were trembling from the strain of crawling on the ceiling with the help of ice to freeze me to it, I can't be found out can I? No, I can't yet.
When I finally dropped down I landed with a foot on each of the guards shoulder and let lightning zap the life out of them, falling to my feet and they crumbled before throwing my arms out in front and making the metal sheet used as door fly out and crush a man on impact before blasting the other two with shards of stone, knowing very well they wouldn't speak so why keep them alive?
I looked around the files they had and folded those I liked up and stashing them in my hip pouch.
----------------------------------------------
"Found anything?" I got asked while meeting up with Fin outside the really convincing fake tree that was a hidden entrance into a cultist base.
"Some parchment tracking the cycles of the moon..... Again, you sure you don't know anything more about this?"
"I promise." The woman said, swung over horse back. "I was to know nothing about this, just what I told you."
"Great."
It was much longer of a road to find my father as I had anticipated as this had already been the third small cultist base this woman pointed out for us but at least I know we are getting somewhere.
"Lets move." Kela said, riding up with Kia who was sleeping. "She's not getting better so it isn't something she ate."
"Gods I hate this." I whispered. "Why did she need to be stuck with fucked up magic?"
"She can't do anything against it."
"I know that, I just wished she had it easier. we need to head to the nearest town as unlike mather I have no wild magic and gotta rely on what I can do like this."
"Right."
----------------------------------------------
The people knew how us mages looked with our uniform and insignia... Well their insignia, I still haven't changed my corset with the burnt of insignia out, being recognized like this had its perks, free rooms in the inn even tho we'd still end up paying for it anyway.
"What are we looking for?" Fen asked as he was the one that has followed me and Fin stayed back with Kela, even tho she was a good healer this was a one in infinity situation she never had a chance of meeting.
"A herbalist."
"Aren't you cold?"
"No, you guys come from Solor's south while I assume more north as cold never bothered me (anyway🎶 ) plus ice came as my first magic that I truly mastered."
"True, would you teach us how to help?"
"Why?"
"What you mean why? Have you ever thought about something happening to you or you need to live to scout and she has another of these sick episodes? We need to be able to help, we are all responsible for her."
"Right sorry, I didn't think I'd be that far from Kia but you are right and dame's first." I grinned as I opened the door with a hand and waved at him to go first.
"Girl I am fabulous." He said while walking in.
"I think you hang to much with my aunts." I added chuckling at him.
My eyes scanned the jars upon jars of plants, the pots and bundles hanging off the ceiling.
Walking through the shelves, it was towards the back I caught sight of what I wanted as they are not easy to come back unless you know of the secret gardens but even I don't know where that is as my mothers never told me and I can't find it myself.
I picked up a small fist sized jar with what looked like dry leaves and a pinkie sized vial with black liquid and another similar vial with blue liquid.
"Don't tell me you'll be drugging your sister." Fen said while looking over my shoulder.
"This is the only way I have, mather has wild magic I have plants, these leaves crushed up make a strong calming tee that can drop fivers in hours, Alernia makes you dazed, almost hallucinations for dreams and blocks your use of magic and Wither Away consumes your magic, all of these combined is the only thing I can do, she'll be sleeping and comfortable while the Wither Away munches away at the magic in surplus as I of course will not make her take all of the vial."
"Ah got it, it is complicated."
"Indeed."
----------------------------------------------
"Come on, don't be a baby." I sighed.
"It doesn't taste good!" Kia whined, hiding under the blanket....As if that could save her from me.
"Kia." I rolled my eyes. "Do you want to feel sick? It mustn't feel good, an upset tummy, how will you eat apple pie like this?"
"Apple pie?" Gotcha.
"Yeah, they sell it here but only if you drink it because we can't bring it up to the rooms." I said, holding the cup hooked around a finger and sitting on the bed with my legs crossed, my other and holding the headboard. "We wouldn't want it to get cold would we?"
"Argh fine but you go on a date." I almost spilt the drink over her and heard Kela's snort.
"Why you little devil." Always manipulating stuff, she is too much like mather but like mother like daughter I suppose.
"Don't worry we'll go on one but listen to her." Luckily I was turned towards Kia because Kela's reply shocked me beet red.
"Just drink it." I grumbled. "Or I swear to gods I'll ask the kitchen boy to date you."
"No!" She was so horrified which made me grin as she finally grabbed the cup, pulling a face when finished.
"There we go." I passed my hand in her hair, waiting for her to fall asleep. "Finally."
"This cute." I looked at Kela. "You two remind me of my brother and I."
"I am the oldest, I need to look out for my siblings, they look up to me for help and advice so it is no biggie."
"How nice."
"Were.... Were you serious with the date?" I glanced at her while slowly standing up to not disturb my sister.
"I mean it was to get her to drink that thing but if you want to I have my schedule free."
"Your schedule is to be my guard, of course it is free."
"If you look at it that way yeah, I just got to be with you."
"Exactly, so it's a date?" I said before I could stop myself but I didn't really wish to have succeeded in it, this is my chance.
"Sure." I smiled, yet again conscious about the crookedness of it but seeing her smile back made me forget about it. "Lets just go tell the twins and we can go."
"I'll go do that."
