"Please don't go!" I smiled sadly as Kia death gripped my leg, clinging to it. "Don't leave me Liny."
"Kia you need to be a big girl." I sighed softly, kneeling down and picking her up, we would soon leave and I wasn't really truly ready for this but it needs to be done.
"But I don't want you too leave!"
"Ssh sweetie I will come back." I set her in bed, wiping her tears, Siera was a big girl, she knew more of the world and was more mature so she needed less of my protection but Kia here was so young, she clung to whatever I could give her to hold on.
"Y-you promise?" she sniffled, I sat on the bed as I covered her with her blanket.
"Yeah..." I forced a smile as I didn't like lying to her, I couldn't promise I would survive. "Yeah I promise we'll see each other again." I kissed her forehead.
"Please don't leave." She grabbed my arm.
"Kia...."
"Just a bit more..."
"What about a lullaby? Sounds nice right?" I asked, she nodded slightly. "Alright."
Hush now, my story
Close your eyes and sleep
Waltzing the waves
Diving in the deep
Stars are shining bright
The wind is on the rise
Whispering words
Of long lost lullabiesOh won't you come with me
Where the moon is made of gold
And in the morning sun
We'll be sailing
Oh won't you come with me
Where the ocean meets the sky
And as the clouds roll by
We'll sing the song of the seaI had a dream last night
And heard the sweetest sound
I saw a great white light
And dancers in the round
Castles in the sand
Cradles in the trees
Don't cry, I'll see you by and byOh won't you come with me
Where the moon is made of gold
And in the morning sun
We'll be sailing
Oh won't you come with me
Where the ocean meets the sky
And as the clouds roll by
We'll sing the song of the seaRolling
Rolling
Rolling
Rolling
Oh won't you come with me
Where the moon is made of gold
And in the morning sun
We'll be sailing freeOh won't you come with me
Where the ocean meets the sky
And as the clouds roll by
We'll sing the song of the sea
By the time I was finished she was asleep, crying takes a lot of energy.
I carefully got up and tucked her more in.
"I am sorry if I can't keep true to my words." I whispered, kissing her head.
Leaving her room I walked to the next and knocked before opening.
"I came to say goodbye." I said, peeking my head in.
"No." Siera shook her head and stood from her table, abandoning her book.
"Siera we don't know how this will turn out."
"Not goodbye." She said. "Just see you later."
"If that makes you feel better.... See you later." I wrapped her in a hug which she gave back.
