The first thing I noticed was that I was aware.
Aware and awake.
But not in my body.
It was a huge desert of snow, reaching out all around me with extremely cold winds and snow fall making me lose most of the vision I had.
"This isn't the spirit plains nor am I conscious." And I was sure of that but... "Where am I in that case?"
I choose a direction and start trudging through the knee high snow.
The blizzard was raging angrily as I tried sooth it with magic and almost turning my blind with all the whiteness around me while also freezing me to the bone as the snow soaked my clothes.
"Why am I here?!!" I yelled, hearing a shockingly loud echo of myself around me as if I was actually in a small room instead of icy plains.
"The wait is almost over." I whipped around, a sinister voice waving itself through the storm to my ears.
"Who's there?!" I lifted my arms to my side but found no weapons so I raised them in fists near my chin. "Come out!!"
"Soon it'll all be over." The atmosphere wet even colder if possible, my wind whipped hair had frost on the ends and I didn't feel my ears, fingers and toes, trying to suppress my tremors.
"Soon?! Show your fucking self!!"
"Soon I'll be back!"
Suddenly all the wind rushed towards my left and I heard an angry hiss before a woman made of ice and snow materialized near me.
"You will not harm her." I felt like I could trust this.... This being.
"You will not be able to stop me!"
"For now I am still able too, leave."
When the dark feeling left so did the blizzard.
I observed this being, it didn't feel like a spirit and sure wasn't someone I could relate her too in my world.
A long sleeved white dress with a light blue trim, sleeve and the bottom of it so long it dragged in the snow, four fingers, arms slender and skin white as the purest snow, a long neck and a smooth almost featureless face, four squished circles of pure icy blue for eyes and 'hair' made of ice spikes standing straight up with a slight curve to them.
"Do not fear, he shall not hurt your mind, I'll make sure off it." Her bell-like voice came again.
"Who are you?" I breathed out.
"You'll know soon, now.... Time to awaken Lin."
--------------------------------------------
I blinked, my eyes having no trouble as this was darker then the plains of ice.
"Hello troublemaker." I decked him in the face and sat up, rubbing my eyes.
"I will gut you Fin." I told the boy.
"Told you it wasn't a good joke, even a joke."
"It would have been funny Fen!"
"Don't bicker." I sighed. "How long was I out of action?"
"Not that long, the head mage had whatever stuff was needed to get rid of whatever knocked you out like a stone."
"Poison." I breathed, making both look at me. "It was poison, I was poisoned."
"How do you know that?"
"Well Fin the first glass of wine I had was fine but the second was bitter even if it was the same one."
"The wine was poisoned?"
"No Fen, I was before but the wine reacted with the substance and it was a quick and violent reaction."
"But only one thing does this."
Before I could speak, in stepped the mentioned head mage, I grinned as Kela followed after.
"I was poisoned I know." I said before either could speak. "And I might know how."
"Would be great since I am able to detect when soul sucker is mixed into wine." Mystery said. "You are so lucky I was prepared for any situation that would come up."
"Well as I told the twins, I had had a first glass of wine and it was fine but the second was bitter even if it was the same one."
"So the first glass was what is the culprit but how?" Kela asked Mystery who shrugged.
"I think it was a timed effect." I said. "If you don't drink wine the inactivated poison leaves your body after half a day but this morning I had been shot through the foot by an arrow and got another one to cut my cheek open."
"They could have been dipped in the water like poison." I nodded as Fin's remark.
"I am a target and they did say I either help their cause or I get killed, presumably to not stand in their way."
"That is another reason why you are coming back home and not on some journey." Mystery said and I wanted to snap before I heard a clacking sound.
"Kelarian??!" Mystery exclaimed in surprise, rubbing the back of her head as the elf shrugged.
I started to laugh at the and the twins joined in soon to.
I smiled at the elf and she gave a grin back with a 'I got you' wink as Mystery looked on in shock before sighing an crossing her arms behind her back and shaking her head.
"Children, all of you." She muttered as I chuckled on as the scene repeated in my head.
