"So what we doing?" I asked Kela, walking backwards in front of her, using a soft magic aura to feel if anyone was behind me to not walk into them.

"Well I don't know, like you not having visited much of my home land I didn't visit much of yours, we are allies but still mixing of the people is rare isn't it?"

"Yeah I suppose, even the halfmen prefer to stay underground even to a road leads up to the surface, everyone has preferences."

"Yeah."

"Hey do you know how to ice skate?"

"My kingdom is covered in snow half the year."

"That's not what I asked."

"Yes I know, why?"

"Well if my memories aren't playing tricks on me there should be a lake over that way." I walked off, knowing she'd follow.

And like I thought there was a frozen over lake where I had predicted it.

"I accidentally brought winter earlier this year so lets hope it will also end sooner."

"I wouldn't bet on that." Kela said.

"Damn."

I stepped out on the ice, usually you'd use metal bladed ice skates tied to your shoes to do this but with practice and magic I didn't need them.

I didn't know why I picked this but this is better then anything, there isn't much to do in this town as we don't know much.

"Coming?" I asked, sliding to her with a raised brow.

"Yeah yeah, you are just like Mystery, you both walk and skid on ice troubleless-ly."

"You have ice magic."

"No, I have water if she'd have told you."

"Just make water blades on your shoes and I'll freeze them gods be damned."

I had ended up shoving Kela over the ice as she had a slight hesitation before she yanked me after her making me slide in a spin.

I stuck my leg behind me, the drag of my boot on ice just enough to slow me enough so I could see her smile.

"Oh we both can play this game." I said, propping a small ice heel under my feet as I stopped sniping but continued sliding backwards before bending the ice to have momentum slide me back towards her and blast her back with air.

I watched her stumble before bending over and set her hand on the ice as she stopped going back, having even less drag then I did on those thin ice skates.

I slid closer with a smirk before sliding around her.

"You can't beat me, ice is my element." I threw my arms out with a kick on a foot to making me spin gently.

"We'll see."

I don't know when I had so much freedom last time, even playing with the twins could be interrupted by duty and even when I was with the elves I had some duties to their kings and rules I needed to respect but here I was free, pushing and shoving each other or just chatting.

"So, what do you hope will come of finding him?" Kela asked, breaking and scrapping the ice off the frozen lake's frozen surface with her skates, they made her even taller.

"I don't really know." I shrugged, hands behind my back, sliding a bit, like walking in circle I was sliding around in hearing range. "I just hope for some answers, what's going on with me, why am I hunted..... Why was I thrown away?"

"Lin."

"Hey no no I don't feel sad." I waved it off. "I had the best life I could wish for, I just want answers and at least put a face behind the words of father even if I would never see him again after."

"You sure you wouldn't want to see him?"

"I don't know that man, I don't know how I'll feel, from what I know I could wish to never see him in my life ever again or I could want to drag him home with me to the castle."

"Don't make a hasty choice."

"I won't."

"Good."

"Yeah.... This is so peaceful." And I heard a huge growl.

"You jinxed it!" I rubbed the back of my head as Kela shot me an amused look.

"At least it was a growl and not some people after my head."

"You are jinxing it even more."

"I'll shut up, lets go check it out."

"Lin no."

"Lin yes!"

"Come back here!"
