"Look after the horses, each day passing will yield one more gold coin got it?" I asked the stable master and he nodded, eager for the gold he would have after we came back.

We needed to cross the mountain but with all the snow, wind and narrow roads we'll be met with was too dangerous for the horses to come.

Arianna finally got what she's been asking for and her arms got tied in the front, not because she asked tho, just so she could catch herself if she were to fall, I still struck down her magic, I am getting good with this magic blocking fight style.

The further up we went on the road the less kept it became and more the raging winds became strong and soon were in the blizzard, we need to get over this mountain.

Wind blew in my face and the snow made me barely able to see a meter in front of me, Kela who's sight was better since she wasn't a human walked in front on the snow covered and few feet large road carved from the stone, I followed, Kia wrapped in my cape and in my arms, shivering, Fen was next with Arianna and Fin closed the march.

I heard a scream and shot me leg out, a ledge of ice shooting out from the side of the stone, catching Fin from tumbling to his death.

"I'm fine!" He yelled over the wind as I took a deep breath.

"We'll soon get to more safer areas!" Kela said which reassured me and with my magic sent out to echo off the surfaces I could also see it, we were approaching a plateau half way up the mountain.

When we reached that plateau it was a relief as there was solid ground under us even if the snow reached up to our knees and we could fan out and walk around instead of following each other.

The twins ended up making a stone tent to fit us all, the sun was setting in a few slices so we could have moved on but we would try to wait the blizzard to calm down before plus we were all freezing and wet from the snow, above all, we have a child with us.

Fin pulled a few dried roots from the ground while Fen got the ice and snow out, I flicked my wrist to light the roots on fire so we could see.

I sat with Kia in my lap and hugged against me, Tra called forth and resting in her lap, radiating warmth, Kela sat near while the twins sat around Arianna, no one really wanted to talk so we were listening to the crackling of the flames and the whooshing of the wind.

Like we had hoped for the morning did bring the death of the blizzard but the snow was thigh high so I was back to carrying Kia to save her from being frozen.

We were walking up the slope of the mountain away from where we camped near trees, leading to the higher up valley that was the only passage point if we didn't wish to walk for days.

"Lin!" Fen kicked up a wall of snow to block my left side.

"Oh hell no!" I growled, slamming my foot in the ground and kicking up a ripple of snow that flew away in the air, creating a huge snowless circle, revealing the white cloaked enemy that was hiding in the snow layer.

I set Kia down before me and kicked up a stone wall to shield us from a fire blast coming from behind before it exploded, wild magic making the stone shatter to pieces and shake the ground.

"Wait stop!" Arianna yelled. "You don't need to do this!" I almost told her to shut up but I had a feeling I should let her speak.... And.... It looks like it will pay off.

"What are you on about?!" One of them reacted instantly, like our presence vanished suddenly and only she happened to exist to them.

"This is a mistake Brad!"

"You allied with them?!" I stepped forth and deflected a blast of fire up the slope and it exploded further up but we still felt the shake. "Traitor!" He even ignored me, this must be really personal for all of them to have them argue instead of fighting us while we just stood there, really to blast any of the ten we saw if they came at us.

"It wasn't by choice! This is a suicide mission for their stupid ideals!"

"Traitor traitor traitor!"

"She is telling the truth, whatever your master wants of you will not became true as all will die, you are just pawns that can be replaced with no value." I said.

I caught a lash of lightning and shot it away with the same arm instead of letting it pass through me, a less advanced version of redirecting I guess.

"You are locked in a cage! A sack of meat the can be disposed off!" I yelled at the boy, he seemed to be the leader as the others wouldn't move despite some looking extremely pissed and ready to jump.

"Brad please, just put the cloak down, we are off no use, they lied to us, just listen to Lin, nothing good will come of this!"

With a flick of my wrist a pure magic shield protected us, this Brad too emotional to think straight and just blasted the solid shield over and over, ugly sobbing as this went on, screaming traitor over and over.

Until we heard a crack.

We all turned to the groaning mountain, staring at it motionless before the first slab of snow started rolling down.

"AVALANCHE!!!" One of the enemy screamed in fear.

"TO THE TREE, CLIMB FOR YOU LIFE!!!" Fin screamed, pointing in the way we came for and suddenly the stand off we were having turned into all of us fleeing together.

I scooped Kia in my arms and we just bolted, the explosions sent up the mountain dislodged so much snow even I couldn't stop it if Fin or Fen were to help.

Kela being the fastest ran in front and I unfortunately was near last with Kia as a weight in my arm.

"WE WON'T REACH THE TREES!!!" I heard Brad yell, saving our life way more important then their mission which I don't complain about.

Dread was setting in as the wave of snow was rushing down, slowly realizing he was right, the trees were just too far away and the snow of the ground was slowing us down and even if we got too them we wouldn't be able to climb up to the safe distance from the ground..

I whipped my head around hearing a scream, seeing on of the smaller guys trip and fall, foot caught in a something under the snow.

I glanced up to see the snow about to get to him and it would bury us right after.

And in a split second I made decision.

"KELA CATCH!!"

"LIN NO!!"
