I yelled as I fell through the air, falling towards the ground before a dark shadow passed over me and I landed hard on something cold.

I turned to my stomach and looked in awe as the long body of the serpent-like creature I saw in the pond, now strong limbs visible with more of its red fines and purple fur along his spine and it was much bigger then the small thing I saw, it was smaller then my hand in the pond, its eye was the size of my head here.

"Thanks." I whispered as it had caught me after all.

I looked around as it was flying, bringing me somewhere, seeing incredible scenery shift underneath me, a leafless dead forest filled with fog, a desert of shimmering gems, a forest of shadows, a mountain range of red ice, the next weirder then the last and breathtakingly beautiful.

Many weird creatures were also passed, some looking like mixed beings of our world others nothing I've seen or learnt off.

I sat in awe at these sights, I never thought this was real, the spirit plains are all but a myth to calm those fearing death.... But being proved that indeed it exists is awing, it can't be anything else but the spirit plains, and if it was I must have been drugged heavily to see this.

My 'mount' starter circling in the air and slowly landed.

I got of its back and watched it bounce back in the air, the red grass swishing around as if the air was water.

"Amazing." I whispered but I had no idea what I was doing here or what my purpose here was.

I looked at the sky with mouth wide open, there was no sky but an upside down jungle with huge blue vines snaking around the trunks and even so the light wasn't in any way restricted, bright like the sun of summer.

I jumped up with a small gust of air and the air did behave like water, letting me float up through it.

I watched as slowly small pale blue lights filled the sky, chasing each other, playing with the others and creating a light show as I flipped and started to float downwards and set my feet on the ground, looking up at the now yellow and green swirls filling the sky.

"It is a sight to behold isn't it?"

I turned around to see a woman I recognized but at the same time didn't, her features matching those of Mystery quite well, her hair seemingly endless as she walked, growing to never be needed to be pulled along.

"It is.... Are you the one that creature brought me here to meet?"

"Who knows? Am I or are you just searching for an excuse to your problems in the spirit plains?"

"I am not searching for anything."

"You just said you were."

"Who are you anyway? It's like hearing Mystery talk, so infuriating."

"Dragons are always too honest for human liking."

"Yeah, you speak like her."

"What can I say? Arianwyn got it from me."

I stared, that's why...

"Seraphim."

"So she talked about me."

"Yeah.... Maybe I am here so that you can help me with her, she has it out for me I don't get it, she can never like anything I do."

"Then you are blind, deaf and handicapped if you can't realize how wrong you are." I took a step back a the calm but cold aggression in her voice. "You are all but a brat refusing to see passed a cloud of lie they fabricated for their own narrative."

"I am not lying nor disabled, she never has said anything nice, always belittling an--" "I heard enough I will not let you drag all she does for your family through the dirt."

I watched her walk passed me and I followed, wanting to get to the end of this.

"Then tell me, tell me what good has she ever done?"

"You are blinder then blind child, have you never thought about the fact she might not see her own words as hurtful? Have you ever considered she isn't human? You are an idiot for not taking her upbringing and what she lived through into consideration."

"Then tell me.... Because I don't see what others do! I feel so useless to her! Unworthy! I can't do anything to make her smile! I can't be anything but a disappointment!"

She stopped walking and I almost walked right into her, she whipped herself around with a glare.

"You sure are not worthy of being her child with your behavior, try to look at things from her perspective. She never wanted to be head mage, hell not even a mage, excelling at it without her consent, she thought she was lacking a true family, forced into all this..... You want to be head mage and are a fast learner and have a family... She is giving you what she never had and you spit at her face for her fear of anything happening to her eldest child! You never know how much of a parents life is spent wanting the best for their child! That day when you were such an idiot! Wanting to show off with blood magic! You almost died!! I had to sit here and watch the horror she had on her face!! Waking up after that!! When she rightfully reprimanded you for being dishonest and foolish!! She was terrified for your life!! And you had the audacity to yell at her that she was the worst person in your life!!! All because you were blind and refused to see how she was feeling!!!"

I couldn't breath, having backed up against a tree in fear as she followed, finger painfully stabbing at the middle of my chest as if my corset offered no protection.

"You will never know how a mother feels until you'll be one, then look that child in the eyes and tell them you'll stop teaching them something that can take them from you and get treated as the worst being in the world for it, we'll see how you feel about it."

My throat was tight as I swallowed, she finally backed off and sighed.

"Learn that sometimes others aren't the problem.... But you are."

A gust of wind made me cover my face before I looked around when it stopped blowing and Seraphim and her endless hair were gone, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
