"You are late!" I yelled in shock and face planted on the ground.

"Yhat the hell Mystery?! And for once in your life! Use a door! Not a window!"

"Too long and widows are easy access and you are late."

"I don't want to go to the meeting tho, some idiotic posh princess or prince aiming for my siblings's hand when Siera already thinks of partners and Kia is too young."

"For once I'll say nothing about your language as the whole queendom knows my own displeasure to be to political."

"Which is why mother threatened some people with a sword and you punted them in the nearest lake, yeah I know."

"Even so it is a must since you are the eldest."

"You are trying to marry ME off?!"

"Heavens no..... They wouldn't survive."

"At least we are on the same page for that.... Fine get off my window ledge, I'll get ready for the gods' sake."

I sighed as she hopped down but stayed there with her crossed arms, waiting.

I won't get to enjoy a free day will I?

"Kelarian is coming too!" Mystery yelled up at me.

"Why would that change my want to come?!"

"It won't but she's not as lenient as I can be!"

"Lenient my ass." I whispered, getting dressed in my uniform and also hopping through the window, letting her catch me, the rose bushes catching me at her command. "There, I am here."

"Lin, this is important."

"I know I know."

"No you don't." I raised an eyebrow as I follow on her tail.

"Shadow knights?" I asked.

"They will be around." She said which proved me it was by far more important then I thoughts, shadow knights are an elite cast of human warriors that could rival us mages so a few of them exist only, even Mystery didn't know of them before her marriage to mother and even mother didn't know of them before her mother told her, now Mystery is the one regulating their training, I never saw them but at times, I can feel their presence, as if they want me to know they are here and ready to be called.... Why didn't Mystery used them to find me? Heck, there is many questions I have really but it isn't the time.

"Why are they coming then?"

"You guessed right, for a hand in marriage but their the biggest threat to peace right now."

"What will we do about them?"

"Teach them a lesson, to not think they are above the queendom that was the last bastion of humanity and from where all the other human king and queendoms came from."

"Gotcha, the knights are just here in case they pull something."

"We'll be able to deal with it, it is mostly to make them feel pressured by the feeling of being watched."

"Lin don't play with it." Mother whispered as I sighed and clasped my hands in my back, I don't like wearing the simple silver circlet that had a blue gem in it, I always preferred to be a simple mage to wearing my royal circlet but whatever.

"Sorry." I whispered.

Mother was sitting the head throne with Mystery standing at her right and me on her left, Kia and Siera sat on the left and Kela standing far by the door.

"Her Majesty, the Hallowed family." A butler announced.

"Forgive me King Hallowed for I will not stand to greet you." Mother said.

"Your Majesty, royal consort head mage Mystery." I never understood why she didn't say anything about being the queen of dragons, it could make our enemies fear even raising a finger against us... Tho her long ass title already is deterring enough I guess. "It is wonderful to finally meet you and don't worry yourself for such trivial salutes, the newest heir to the family in more important than a greeting."

I let my mind run free as this was boring for me, I could be training with the twins at this time not having a meeting.

I still listened in enough to hear that the king was trying to offer the prince's hand to Kia who didn't look impressed, I wouldn't be either, I prefer the elvish type.

"--But Majesty, the union of our land would fortify the armies."

"We don't need it king as I said, Solor stands proud and tall."

"But your Majesty--" "Take your family and go, I have heard enough of you selfish speech."

"We are not lea--" "If you are not I'll be forced to put you out myself." She lifted a hand and us two mages lifted our hands and dropped in a lower stance. "I'll have my mages deal with you."

"But her Majesty!" Mystery shoved him back as he tried approaching mother.

"Move it, you heard the queen!" Mystery's glares were quite scary when she really meant evil. "Move. It."

"You'll die if you stay." Mother said casually.

"Bu--" "10 seconds my king."

He finally moved to follow his family who long have fled.

"Mystery?" Mother called. "Don't let any of them leave alive." She calmly said. "He tried hexing me but the void took care of it."

"Gladly." With a flick of her hand her magic sparked and screams of pain echoed through the hallways as the stone walls probably sprouted spikes.

"Arianwyn tell my younger brother to get ready to head to Klorsto to deliver the sad news that their monarchs have been caught in an attack before reaching out capital and died, also tell him that Solor will help them, I have the feeling that the people suffered under their rule."

"Right." Mystery nodded, none in this family valued an individuals life over the good of many if it wasn't family.

"I'll go clean up." I said, walking away.... This was more fun than I thought.

I just wish I could find a way to sneak away and go find my father, I have more questions for that man then I have for Mystery.
