5. ENGLISH

"Cass, stop punching that sack. Just because Varian left you isn't a reason." Cassandra turns to her friend Rapunzel.

  "Isn't that a reason? Rapunzel, the man I love" throws another punch at the punching bag "breaks up with me" and another.  "How would you feel if Eugene broke up with you, huh?"  punches and more punches.

  "Very bad, but-" the friend begins to say.

  Cassandra stops "So make sure you don't say certain things anymore. I also have feelings, even if often it may not seem like it" she says and leaves the room throwing her boxing gloves on the floor.

  - 4 hours before-

  Cassandra heads to her boyfriend Varian's room to greet him before they start work, she as guard and he as engineer.  Both living in the castle see each other much more often than when Varian didn't.

  "Var? Are you here?"  the girl asks.

  Apparently not, he thinks and begins to observe the boy's room.  He sees some pictures of her with Varian.  One of when she and he ate ice cream together, a photo taken by Rapunzel to their surprise.  Another photo is of their kiss, also taken by Rapunzel to their surprise.  In short, all the photos were taken by Rapunzel to their surprise, except one, that have Cassandra in her room.

  "What are you doing here?"  a grumpy voice asks.

  "Varian, why are you talking to me like that? I came to see you before starting work, you know how we always do"

  "Go to see Andrew, he looks like your new boyfriend," Varian says sharply.

  "What? What are you saying, Varian?"  Cassandra asks approaching her boyfriend.

  "They told me they saw you kissing Andrew last night" confesses the boy.

  "What?" Cassandra laughs, but noticing Varian's straight face she stops "Varian, you're kidding, aren't you?"

  "No, and now get out of my room. Andrew will look for you," the boy says angrily.

  "But Varian. I've never kissed anyone. Why do you think I cheated on you? You know I love you-"

  "No, if you loved me, you wouldn't have cheated on me by kissing another boy. Cassandra is over between us," Varian says coldly.

  The girl, hearing those words, runs out of the room.  Arriving in her room she begins to cry.  She doesn't want her to be seen so vulnerable, she's always been strong, but if it's Varian, the person who loves the most in the world, the armor she has is shattered, crumbling to pieces.

  So she decides to go and unload that anger and that frustration in the training room.

  Varian, meanwhile, feels sorry he broke up with her, but he did what is right.  Or at least what he thinks is right.

  "Hey kid" Eugene greets him as he enters the young man's room.

  "Don't call me kid anymore, how many times do I have to tell you?"  he says in a whipped tone.

  "Hey hey hey, somebody here looks angry. What happened? And why are you putting away the pictures of you and Cassandra?"

  "I broke up with her. She betrayed me"

  "Kid-, I mean, Varian, are you sure it went like this?"  Varian nods.

  "Listen to me, as much as I can make fun of Cassandra for her tough side, I'm 101 percent sure she loves you and would never betray you."

  "Are you sure?"  Varian asks unsure.

  "Yes Var, you can see from thousands of miles that she loves you. Why do you have to jeopardize a beautiful relationship like yours for a stupid rumor?"

  Varian looks at pictures of her with Cassandra and says "You're right, I'm going to apologize"

  "That's it. Team Awesome" the boys smile at each other.

  Meanwhile Cassandra is on her bed looking at her favorite photo.  A photo that portrays Varian and her in a passionate and loving kiss.  This photo is from their second anniversary and it was Cassandra who asked Rapunzel to take it.  It is an image that portrays the love Cassandra feels for Varian.

  "Hey, can I come in?"  Varian shyly asks at the door.

  "Yes," Cassandra agrees, wiping a tear.

  "I'm sorry for the way I treated you and I'm sorry for believing those unfounded rumors and not you. Forgive me?"  Varian asks, hoping for yes.

  "Var I-" and not even the time to say that she has forgiven him that immediately a kiss is popped on Cassandra's lips.

  "I forgive you" and they give each other another kiss full of love and passion.
