It was the day after the expo and Cassandra had just woken up. Fine.. he hadn't slept most of the night thinking about how she'd preferred ambition to Varian's friendship.

Friendship.

Ever since she had rescued Varian for the first time and he had called her "M 'lady", something inside Cassandra stirred. It was a sensation never felt before. She felt the same feeling when she, after confiding in Varian, he smiled at her, saying something about her fathers. Cassandra smiled, as she had never done to anyone, and she felt her heart beating fast. Their eyes were in each other, but the cursed bells interrupted the magical moment.

Cassandra pretended to be angry for her she hadn't finished her chores and then could stand guard, but the truth was that if she was with Varian, she didn't care much for the rest.

When Varian shortly thereafter said the word "friends". it was as if something had broken inside Cassandra, but she smiled anyway. As mentioned before, the important thing was to be with him. And in that moment she understood.

She was in love with Varian.

Still lost in her thoughts, she decided to do the biggest madness of her life. She walked to Varian's house to clear her mind. She walked with her head down and she didn't notice that she had bumped into someone.

"Excuse me, I wasn't looking where I'm going. So-" she stopped noticing it was her "Cassandra? What are you doing in Old Corona?" Varian asked.

"Oh, hello Varian. Sorry, but I didn't see you" replied the young woman "And well, I'm here at Old Corona.. for you" Cassandra replied.

"F-for me? W-why?" Varian asked curiously.

"Can we go to your house so we can talk about it better?" the young woman asked embarrassed.

"Oh yeah sure," Varian said, also embarrassed.

They walked side by side without saying a word. Both embarrassed and with their own thoughts. Cassandra thought about how to say it and Varian thought about what her crush wanted to say. Fine, she wasn't just a crush for Varian, he too was in love with her.

They arrived at the young boy's house, luckily Quirin wasn't there, and Varian took her to her room, embarrassed, but he took her. Cassandra sat on the bed and Varian sat on the desk chair. The girl didn't stop looking at her friend's room and she was fascinated by all the things Varian had.

"Do you.. do you like it?" Varian asked.

"Yes, so much Varian"

The boy's name from the young woman's lips was pure music to his ears. Cassandra then asked Varian if he could sit on the bed too. She needed to look into his eyes. He heard these words and sat up.

"Well.. so what do you want to talk to me about Cass?" Varian asked.

"Yes.. then..so.." Cassandra stammered. She wasn't used to expressing her feelings about her.

"Hey, hey Cassie.. it's me, Varian, you know you can tell me everything" he consoled her, the boy softly and put a hand over hers.

Upon hearing the nickname Varian had given her, her heart beat faster and she decided to tell him everything.

"So, you know very well that I hate talking about my feelings and doing it makes me sick, but now I have to do it, for you and me," confided Cassandra.

She wasn't stupid, she understood that Varian had a crush on her, which is why she said she absolutely had to do it for him too.

"I know very well Cass and I also know that you are better with facts than with words.. so.." Varian slowly approached her and her lips.

Not even Varian was stupid, he had guessed that Cass also felt something stronger than friendship, but unfortunately he had only realized it in a few moments before.

"Yes, you are right, it is better to act," Cassandra said in a hoarse voice.

And in the next instant the lips of the two joined. Their kiss was as pure as the feelings they felt. When they broke apart, they joined their foreheads and smiled at each other.

"D-did you like it?" Varian asked anxiously for an answer.

"Is that what you think after we.. well.. kissed?" Cassandra asked jokingly.

"I... no, I mean yes, but it's because-" Varian stammered and Cassandra stopped him with another kiss.

"Don't worry Varian. And yes, I liked it. Too much," they both smiled at each other.

"So now we... are we a couple?" Varian asked, hoping for yes.

"Well, yeah. But I warn you, I'm not good at these things, emh .. sweet or romantic," Cassandra said laughing.

"Then I will be the romantic of two" Varian winked at her.

"Ah, and one more thing .. I want it to remain one thing between us, okay?" Cassandra asked.

"That's just fine" and they exchanged another kiss.

Quirin, who had heard everything, was super happy for Varian. He had sensed that in his son's life there was a girl, in short, he had seen him create a necklace, the Cassandrium. And since this girl was Cassandra, he was even happier.
