Your mind wasn't stable. You thought that the years of therapy helped but, all of that just brought back an onslaught of suppressed memories that you figured you healed from. If you could think straight you would have told Hizashi it wasn't his fault, he didn't know that that kind of answer would come out from such an innocent question. Then, on the other hand, a bitter part of you thought he shouldn't try to be nosy but, at the same time it wasn't being nosy he simply wanted to know more about a friend. That's how you make friends anyway, you ask each other questions.
However, you had to pretend you were okay for the sake of your children. You acted normal to keep them from asking you questions that you didn't want to answer. You knew they would worry the whole day if they knew that you weren't alright. You didn't want to put that kind of stress on them. Once they got on the bus you finally decided to check your phone and surprisingly it was blown up. You had messages from everyone but, you didn't have the heart to answer. You didn't feel like doing anything today. The bakery already knew about your predicament so the only thing you had to do today was, well, nothing. You couldn't be in this house though. The walls felt like they were closing in on you so you grabbed necessities threw on a pair of shorts, flat shoes, and a cami top ready to face the world. Anything to keep from facing your thoughts. You have forgone any transportation and walked. You were aware of your surroundings physically but, mentally? You were gone. Hopefully, you didn't bump into anyone. You didn't want to, or maybe you did and were just scared of delving deeper into your thoughts. You had luck and were able to go to a really fancy diner that was surprisingly empty. Then again it was early in the morning only a quarter to 8 and this place normally got customers during lunchtime and dinner time. You ordered the breakfast special with black coffee and sat at one of the biggest tables in the back corner. If you were going to brood, it was going to be in peace. You leaned your head back with your eyes closed needing some peace to try and calm the inner turmoil you were in.
"You look like shit." You shot up opening your eyes to see the last person you wanted to interact with. Kamui Woods was standing there looking at you with a cup of coffee in his hand. You sneered a bit at him.
"Did you come here to bother me, or don't you have something important to do? You're a hero aren't you." You looked off to the side and then down to your phone that kept buzzing with messages. You heard the man sigh before taking a seat on the opposite side of the round table.
"Look, I'm sorry for being rude to you the first time I met. It wasn't right of me and you had the right to answer me with the same tone I gave you. Can we just start over? It rubs me the wrong way knowing that I got off on the wrong foot with you." He held out his hand towards you waiting for you to grab it. You stared at the hand for a few seconds before slowly grabbing it and shaking it firmly. He pulled away and started a light conversation with you. You found out you enjoyed the banter between the two of you and maybe he wasn't as bad as you thought he was. Before you knew it, both yours and his breakfast were set in front of you. You looked at him wondering something. "You can ask whatever is on your mind."
"Do you want me to look away or move while you eat? I don't know what you look like and judging by your character you're not comfortable with just anyone seeing your face." He choked looking at you with wide eyes. You didn't see the big deal, he wasn't comfortable so no need to purposely make the man uncomfortable especially since he apologized for being a dick.
"I-uh, um...no it's fine actually just...don't look, please?" You nodded your head and for the added measure, you turned away from him every time he took a bite of his food. At first, the atmosphere was tense but, when he saw you were serious about boundaries he felt more comfortable. "You know." You turned to him so he will know you were listening but, your eyes weren't looking directly at his face "Most people would love to know what I look like to gossip about to the news. That's one thing that the media wants." You rolled your eyes, you had a few choice words about how you felt regarding the media.
