SIDE STORY PT. THIRTY FIVE

After Tanner and I had finished I was ready to just pass out. After all that's what I was expecting him and I to do since I had gotten used to the guy falling asleep. But no. I was interrupted by the covers getting piled off of me. "You know the drill." Tanner said with a warm smile, decorated with a coating of blush. "Tanner! I'm tired!" I pulled the covers over again when he pushed them back off. "Cmon Bunny~ it'll be quick." I shook my head as it was nuzzled deep into the pillow. Only to be lifted up over his shoulder. I was exhausted and just wanted sleep. Unlike before I didn't have the energy to clean myself up afterwards. "Tanner, I'm too tired to take a shower right now!" "When was a shower in the conversation? Look. I'll take you a bath. You can just lay there if you want." He plopped me into the bath and started the water. "Wait. Really? I can just lay here?" He nodded "yea, just like we always do it." He pushed my head to a  resting position and I laid on his shoulder while he grabbed the loofa and started washing my skin. "mmm... I missed this.." "missed what?" I sighed "the aftercare." He stopped scrubbing for a minute. "What did Cole do after?" "Sleep, while I took myself a shower." "Ohhh so that's where the shower question came from." He went back to scrubbing. "Not to fret though Love, I have enough energy. All you have to do is sit still." His smile was less mocking as I spent more time with him, and more friendly and warm. Was it because he was less obnoxious? Or was it because I was less blind? And my mind was less foggy.

I left that thought to tomorrow as I leaned in closer to his chest. Slowly and steadily drifting to sleep while he whispered a song in my ear.

Slowly and steadily... his deep and soothing voice sinking into my skull..

"Wise men say.. only fools rush in.."

And with that I was out.

The next time my eyes opened, they were greeted with the light of the window. I went to greet Tanner good morning only to find an empty bed. I blew the hair from my face and started getting ready for the day. Brushing my teeth, combing my hair, and going through the trunk to find something to wear. I hadn't noticed before but these clothes seemed dated. Maybe Adam was doing an off the grid type thing. Because there weren't any TVs either. Once I found a dress I noticed how formal and elegant it looked. I decided to wear it.

I was kinda scared to face the others since all the attention would be on me but my worries went away when Lydia entered the room in a similar dress. Hers was more revealing though. "Luna! Do you want to go on a stroll with me? I wanna get a bouquet of roses." I nodded. "Sure. Nice dress by the way." She smiled and linked my arm to guide me down the stairs and to the garden. While we passed the entry I heard fighting. It sounded like Tanner and someone I didn't know "what that all about?" I asked Lydia. "He's just doing his job." She patted my hand but I had a feeling she was hiding something.
"Are you sure thats it?" She nodded and reassured me with a type of look. "Yes. Ok, there are some white roses in the back. Can you bring me some?"
I tugged the corners of my lips to say yes and strolled my way to the back. Lydia gave me a scarf before I left so I drooped it over my elbows to keep me warm. I couldn't help but think why Tanner was fighting with someone.
