I clenched my fist, my emotions were contradicted with my mind. It was good he didn't believe her but it was also insulting that he thought she had lowered herself that low just to please him. As if he was some sort of prize. Non the less I laughed along with him. I need to gain his favor to let him trust me. Then he stopped again. "Ya know what? Let's go home. I'll get the bags and I'll meet you in the car." He handed the keys to me and ran back to get the bags. I sighed and went back to the car. Sitting in the passengers side, waiting for the car to heat up. Luna woke up. "Tanner? Why-?" "Go back to sleep." "Huh?" "Trust me, just go back to sleep." "Tanner what's going on?" I saw Eugene saying bye to his mother and Luna was about to get up. I pushed her back down and covered her with her jacket like a blanket. "Sh." I sighed and faced forward. Eugene came in the car and started driving back to their apartment. He scoffed a laugh. "Oh my god, I still can't believe she made it all up." I forced a smile. "What are you gonna do? if I may ask." He shrugged. "I don't know.. I mean I'm not gonna break up with her. But then again I could use this as a way to get guilt sex."

I could feel Luna's cringe and disappointment from behind me. As he went on describing it. "And It's not like you don't know, you've had sex with her right?" I nodded. "See!" I laughed. "Just imagine if she's just fake sleeping." I tried to get him to stop talking about it by that but he looked back and rolled his eyes. "I don't think she's faking. Most days, she just waits for me to get back from work. Then we either watch movies or cook." He smiled. "I love watching her unwind. It's like she's scared all the time.." he exhaled. "But I don't get of what. Cause you're right here and you don't seem crazy to me." I tugged on my smile and sooner or later we got to my hotel. "Thanks for dropping me off." I patted the roof of the car before going into my hotel room. From then on I locked the door and threw down my coat. Then I got a phone call. Lydia. "Did you find her?" "Yea." ... "and?" I sighed. "She's dating a man named Eugene." She groaned, annoyed. "What's he like?"
"I'm not gonna lie. He's a tool." "Ughhhhhhh." "But he has his moments." I went to my window and looked outside. Eugene didn't leave. Instead he parked the car and 'woke up' Luna. "How is someone a tool and still a good person Tanner?" He talked to Luna and for a few seconds they fought "I don't know.. but he pulls it off.. she's oblivious." "Heh, I don't think you're describing it right." She cleared her throat as I watched Eugene try to give Luna a kiss. I got filled with anger but I handled it. "Luna isn't  oblivious." "Then what is she?" I turned when Luna refused the kiss and started pacing. "Because if she isn't oblivious then why is she staying with him?! He talks behind her back, and she heard it tonight!" "Maybe she thinks it was a one time thing. Look, a lot of people overweigh the good things over the bad things. Like an optimist." I groaned and walked back to the window. "Yea I guess you're right."

I watched while Eugene exclaimed his anger and frustration. I heard muffled yells from my 5th floor window before "hold on.. I think their fighting." I told Lydia as she waited on the other side. Luna got defensive and started showing him all the different scars she had. He blew a raspberry and rolled his eyes. When Luna saw that she got into the back of the car. He got excited and started pushing her in while taking off his belt. "Are they really?- is sh-?" I mumbled to myself. I forgot I was on the phone with Lydia because the next thing I heard was "what are they doing?!" "Sh!" I felt relieved when Luna came out of the back with her bag. They spoke for a little more before she walked away. The next thing I knew I was calling Luna.

Tanner went inside his hotel. I thought we were gonna drive away but Eugene came in the back and woke me up. "Luna." He shook me "cmon, we need to talk about things." I sat up and met him outside the car. I looked down at the ground while he explained that he knew I was lying. I closed my eyes a way to take a deep breath. I was gonna let it slide before he said the bombshell of all accusations. "Are your scars as fake as you?! I me-." I glared up at him "What did you just say?" He realized he messed up and put his hands near his waist in a surrendering fashion. "Look, I'm sorry I didn't." He leaned down to give me an apology kiss when I pushed him away. He was taken aback and started yelling again. "YOU-. UGHHHHH, TANNERS A GOOD GUY AND YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO ACCUSE HIM LIKE SOME SORT OF FUCKING CRIMINAL. YOU-." I lifted up my bangs and showed him the burn mark on my cheek. "HE LEFT THAT THERE." He was silent for a second "AND I THOUGHT FOR THE LONGEST OF TIME THAT IT WAS THE GIRL'S WHO HE BROUGHT HOME THAT NIGHTS FAULT BUT NO." I stepped closer to him. "If he didn't bring her home that no night none of my scars would be there." I said in a harsh manner. But he just scoffed and rolled his eyes. I took a deep breath before going in the back and getting my bag. I felt him nudge me in as I heard his belt being unbuckled. I groaned and got the bag before heading outside the car.
