Val ate her pancakes next to me. She chewed in a way that looked like she was annoyed at me. She even gave me the side glare as she ate. The others talked while we just stayed quiet. Something about how Lydia was getting closer to Luna each day. I had noticed that a while ago, but I never spoke up about it. I didn't really talk to Luna these days, I wondered why until yesterday. When she told me I had a family as if I was blind. I remember when I thought about family and I had a hope with her in mind. But now that seemed foolish and insensitive to Val. But most of all, the baby. Something was foggy in my mind. I keep trying to think back to that night where it all happened, but it never clicked. Val was 3-4 months into pregnancy so I needed to find out what I was missing. I finished eating pretty fast, I was less hungry now. Less motivated and more tired. Probably from not being able to sleep. Val wanted me to stay up and watch the door while she slept. "I don't trust the others." She would say. "You're supposed to do this anyway." Another memory rang. None the less I kept a smile on my face. Sometimes it even annoyed Val, but it was hard to stop my natural resting face. I was washing my dish when Lydia came into the room. She looked dazed with shock as she went to the medication cabinet. Grabbing a sleeping pill before going back outside to Luna. I watched from the window in a protective frenzy.

I didn't get to see Luna's face. Only watching when Lydia slipped in the drug and Luna steadily feeling drowsy. Soon enough though, she fell in a sudden thud to the table. My smile began to fade as Lydia took a quick glance around and then came into the house. "Hey uh.." she looked around at each one of the men before choosing Adam. "Honey, could you help me with something. Sorry to bother." "No, no. It's quite alright." Adam walked out with Lydia and once she explained what had just happened. He had the same look on his face. Pity. I wonder what they were talking about that made her do that. Either way Adam picked her up, bridal style and carried her in. She looked dead. But she was just sleeping. "What happened to her?" The breather said with his grainy and raspy voice. "She passed out from lack of sleep."
"No she didn't.." I said with an all knowing grin on my face. Lydia got nervous but defensive real quick. "Shut up Tanner, no one asked you." "I saw you drug her." "Like you don't do that on a daily." "You drugged her?" The breather and the others asked. "No, not really. But-." I was interrupted by Val tugging on my shirt in an aggressive plea to drop it. The others kept talking as Val dragged me to the room. She slammed the door shut and I knew I was in for it. "What the hell was that for?!" "What?"
She motioned to outside the door. "I was just stating facts. Lydia drugged her and I wanted to know why." "Why?! WHY?!" She groaned. "WHY CANT YOU JUST FOCUS?!"

She ranted for a while before noticing my resting face not changing. I thought she would just tell me to stop but she decided to take it out with force this time. My head tilted by the slap and I rubbed my cheek. "Get that stupid ass smile off your face. I mean, can't you just try?" "I am trying. I only spend time with you." She scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Don't think I haven't seen you talking to that girl."
It took me a second before I accused her of what I've been thinking for a while. "You did something, didn't you?" I stood up and walked closer to her. "Don't be foolish Tanner." "What did you say?" My fists clenched as my smile widened. "I said what I had to. I was getting tired of you always talking and watching her!" The more she explained the more I knew I had to apologize. When she finished I played it off as a work call before going over to Luna's room. There she was. Sleeping ever so peacefully on her bed. In the dress she was wearing she looked like a precious flower.. ready to be picked. But I shook off my malicious idea and simply sat next to her on the bed. I missed her, I missed her so much but... she was right. I had to move on. Ohhh.. "why'd you have to look like that?" I said as I crawled closer to her. "Don't you see I'm trying to forget about you?" I sighed and got to the space next to her. "Heh, you still have the bite mark I gave you. How nice.." my hand stunned on the bed sheets as I stared down at the sight. "A little won't hurt now would it?" I licked my lips and laid my body next to hers.
