SIDE STORY PT. NINETEEN

~6 Months Later~

Tanner, Laurence and Ein were out on the hunt for suits when Layla and I were at my house preparing for the wedding in a month. We were fixing the table wear when she groaned in pain. "Luna!" She held her stomach as my eyes widened her shirt was drenched. "Wait! Wait! Wait! You have a 3 weeks left though!" I grabbed my stuff and ran to the car, turning it on before going back to help Layla in. Once she was in I called Tanner. "Hello darl-." "LAYLAS IN LABOR!" "WHAT?!" I heard muffled yelling in the back as he told Ein. "WE'LL BE RIGHT OVER!" "IM ON MY WAY TO THE HOSPITAL." Layla groaned and tossed and turned in pain. "HURRY." I hung up as I was close to the hospital. Once I got there I helped Layla out and went to the check in area. "My friends in labor!" I yelled, the receptionist called a doctor as they took her away on a rolling bed. They let me in the room with her til Ein got there. I held her hand and they prepped her for birth. "Are you ready to see your baby Lay?" She nodded and squeezed my hand. She was sweating as Ein entered the room. They still allowed me to stay in since Layla wanted me by her side. I stood there for hours, only thinking about how painful it must have been. Layla kept squeezing our hands while she pushed. Then...after 3 hours of labor on the 20th of June... baby Lucinda was born.

Layla held her gently as the baby cried, but after a while of rocking she finally went to sleep. They looked so happy together, and pit of shame lingered over me as I thought about how that could've been me. I shook off the jealous thought and smiled bright for Layla and Ein. They would make amazing parents, They were both reliable and kind hearted..I had no doubt that, that baby would have a happy and bright life. Tanner and Laurence came in after the baby had fell asleep and we watched in awe. "Meet Lucinda Grayton." Layla said in a tired but proud toon. Laurence caressed the baby's head gently before he kissed her forehead. "She's beautiful Layla." I commented. She smiled at me before the nurse came in to take the baby. We talked for a while before Layla fell asleep. Ein told us it was fine and that we could leave and so we did.

On the drive home I listened to music, Tanner had to drop off Laurence before he came home so when I got there I just sat down on the couch and listened to music on the TV. I got bored pretty quickly so I went to the kitchen and started baking. I thought cake but then I wanted cookies so I just made some sugar cookies. Tanner liked them and I didn't have an opinion, I mean they were ok. I grabbed the Tin and cut the cookies into cute little shapes. But then I ran out of shape ideas and I had one more cookie. I shrugged and did a teddy bear shape. Once they were in the oven I waited by reading a book while I sat on the counter. And that's when I got an idea. I got off the counter and closed the book while I made my way to my room. Tanner would be here in 10-15 minutes so..might as well surprise him. I went into my dresser and looked under my clothes to find my lingerie. I snickered.

I put it on and wore a grey silk robe to cover me up til he got home. I giggled in the mirror before I walked out of the room. The ding of the oven signaled me that the cookies were ready, but as I came closer I saw aman taking them out. My smile went bright as Tanner was home. He put down the cookies and I gave him a big hug from behind. "Hey baby." I said in a raspy voice. He laughed a little and turned around. I looked up to find... Vincent. "Hey honey." My eyes showed my shock as he came closer and picked me up to the counter. "How nice of you to get ready for me. It was a long day at work and I could really use a relaxer." He reached in my robe as he slowly undid the bow. He looked up at me with a sinister smile as I slapped him across the face. I hopped off the counter and grabbed a dish. Once he looked back at from the slap I broke the dish on his head. He groaned in pain while my mind reminded me of everything he did. He took away the most amazing person in the world and I didn't have any more patience left. I grabbed a meat hammer and started beating his head into the counter "YOU SON OF A BITCH! DIE JUS-!" I stopped when I heard the door unlock. I stood in shock and fear as I had a dead man with his head caved in on my countertop. I covered his body with mine as Tanner came in with a man. My eyes widened more, if this man wasn't familiar with Tanners work then we would be screwed for sure. Tanner and the man talked for a little as they walked in. Once they finished their conversation they faced me. "Hey..." Tanner waved as his face showed his surprises expression. He blushed as his smile went away. The man looked over and saw what Tanner was staring at which was me trying to cover Vincent's body while covered in blood and in a robe that halfly showed the lingerie underneath. I waved back "hey honey, uh..who's this?" The man laughed as he came over to shake my hand. "I'm Adam. Nice to meet you." I smiled awkwardly as I said my name. I was relieved that this man wasn't fazed. In fact I think this was the man who gave Tanner the file.

Tanner came over, still blushing as I got away from the body. "I thought you told me she was a cop." Adam asked Tanner. "Uh.. she is." Tanner said, still trying to figure out the pieces. "What happened here?" Tanner finally asked. I sighed, as I showed them the hammer "he just-.it's Vincent." Tanner hugged me as Adam looked at the body. I was shaking. 'What was going to happen? How am I going to go to work?' I let out a quivering exhale and Tanner hugged me closer. "Hmmm..doesn't seem to hard to clean...I'll take care of it." Adam came up to me. "As long as you guys don't mind."

~Time Skip~

Adam had took Vincent's body in a case. He didn't say anything besides from "I'll call you to find a form of payment." Before he left. After Tanner had closed the door he turned and faced me. He looked happy, very happy. I rubbed my face only to remind myself that I was still covered in blood. I looked at my hand then back at him, he was biting his lip at the sight. "What? Don't tell me you're turned on by this." He nodded. "You look hot in lingerie, not to mention the blood adds more to the effect." I playfully rolled my eyes as I motioned for him to come closer. He walked over to me as I kissed his lips in a needy way. I brought him closer down, only to be lifted up by my thighs. I hugged my legs around his waist while he carried me to bed.

In the morning I woke up alone and naked. Tanner really did a number on me last night, we even did 3 rounds... I scoffed a laugh as I got up and got on some clothes before I went to brush my teeth. While I was in the middle of rinsing I got a call. I spit out the water and dried off my mouth before I answered the phone. "Hello?" "Hey sleepy head, hurry up in the bathroom. I made salad." I giggled as I put my head in my hand. "Thank you." He hummed a 'mhm' before hanging up. Tanner was always good with aftercare. He made sure I was cleaned up and ready for sleep each night and in the mornings he would make breakfast and let me sleep in. I walked to the kitchen to find him waiting for me at the table with the salad served on plates. "Good morning." I said in a warm voice. "Good morning bunny." I sat down in front of him and started eating. We talked about the normal stuff. Friends, family, the death of Vincent.
"Adam wants you to do a deal with him.. and I don't think you'll like it." I looked up from my plate confused. "What do you mean? What deal?" He sighed "for pay back from the file I've been helping him with.. torture feeds." I rubbed my face while a groan left my lips. "Ughhh, Tannerrr." He stood up and came up behind me for a hug. "Look, I know it sounds bad, but at least Vincent's gone now. And besides it's just one favor."

I kept my hands over my eyes  "I'm a police detective." He knelt down next to me. "I know, but if you want I can do all the work. I won't mind." I sighed as I uncovered my eyes and turned to face him. I had a straight face on "did you stop eating people? You said you did." His eyes widened a little. "Be honest." I reassured. He held my hands "Look Bunny..I didn't mean to-." "Oh My God Tanner!" I threw his hands back and stood up. He came up behind me as I turned around to face him, I grabbed his collar and pinned him to the wall. "You said you were gonna stop! You said you..loved me enough to stop.." I started breaking down as I clenched the fabric in my hands and dug my head into his chest. My voice started to crack up as I started crying "I just can't believe it, it's so morbid." He wrapped his arms around me while I cried in disappointment. "I haven't changed. Nor do I plan to. That was the deal we made right? I don't change for you and you don't change for me. But now...you have to do this." I whined out, "f-fine."
