As the day went on I realized I was right. Today was unbearable. Nicole and Jared kept giving me the death glare every time I looked to them and on top of that I couldn't even talk to August cause he wasn't scheduled today. "Ugghhhh.." I put my head down on my desk with a thud. "Damn it." I sat there for a few more seconds before a knock took me out of my thought process. "Yes?" I said while taking a glance. Only to find Travis standing there. "You doing ok Youngman?" .. "-Yea! I'm fine. Just a little stressed is all." I cleared my throat while turning awkwardly back to my desk. "Ok... well if you want we could go out to eat. I know how much you and Sarah loved Regino's-." "No-! ..I don't think that's a good idea." I awkwardly chuckled while giving him eye contact again. "It's just cause I'm with Tanner ya know?.. it would look-.. off if we ate together ..alone." He pursed his lips and slowly nodded. "I get it..." he whispered, then without another word he turned and left the room. Leaving me with the paperwork I had been dreading. But I guess I had to start somewhere... so there I was, filling out BOLOs. Nothing too much, just some run of the mil robbers or people on the run for god knows what until I got to one. With a brown haired man. Vincent Opa. 'Shit.' My head filled with his screams. 'I mean it's not like I tortured him or anything.- But you still killed him!' My heartbeat quickened as my breath became harder to catch. 'Please Not here-! Or now!' I got up from my chair with a distraught look. Flipping the paper over while i tried slowing down my heart rate. I inhaled from my mouth slowly and exhaled with my nose. Careful to get the air to my brain. 'Ok, ok, breath.. Tanner isn't here so all you gotta do- Why'd you kill me Luna?' His voice ping ponged around in my head. "Stop... ple-.." I fell my knees as the faint started in the corner of my eyes. I felt sick. Like hurling up sick as I reached over to my phone. Unable to get it. "Shit." "Heyyy Luuuna!!" I heard from my door as Laurence came in with a donut bag. One glance towards me though and he dropped the bag and swooped down. Grabbing my face. "What's wrong? Why are you shaking?" He frantically asked, but I just pointed to the my desk. Prompting him to look at the paper, but after he saw the face he flipped it back over and lifted me to sit across his lap. "Don't worry Luna, I'm here."

He rocked me back and forth as he reached up to my phone. Calling Tanner and putting it to my ear. "Heya gorgeous-.. what's wrong?" I sniffled. "I-I don't know- I just saw a picture of Vincent and and he-.." I took a breath. "Look, it's gonna be alright. Is anyone with you?" "Yea, Laurence-." "Pass the phone over." Tanner demanded before talking to him for a little. Then with a press of a button, they hung up, with Laurence taking Tanner's place. Breathing with me, swaying me, even rubbing my head. Then after a few seconds I was ok again. But insanely sleepy. "You feeling better Luna?" I nodded before standing up. Silently sitting down to continue work when a bag entered my view. He sighed, then spoke softly. "I get you don't wanna talk right now but..." his lips smacked together before he went to pet my hair again. "Take care. Alright?" I purposely let my bangs cover his vision of my eyes as I nodded and whispered back. "thank you.." he struggled to go but soon enough, he was out and away from me.

I don't know why but I felt like being silent the rest of the day. More passive too as I finished my work earlier than I thought. I took a sigh before standing up to hand in the files to Travis. On the way I felt faint again. And I became more winded as my feet made way to Travis's office. It wasn't like it was far. Maybe up a flight of stairs but nothing compared to the 3 miles I run every weekend.. I held onto the railing as people passed me. Not even giving me a sliver of attention. I took a breath before Travis's voice made my head lift up. "Youngman!" He demanded as he walked over. Helping me to his office. "Are you ok? You don't look so hot, and you usually don't heave up the stairs like that." He sat me down but I only handed him the files. "I'm- fine!- just a bit exhausted-..." I panted while looking up to his eyes. Only to see an either disappointed or worried look. I couldn't tell. "Sorry-, I'll be more- ready for work tomorrow and get a better ni-." "When did you go to sleep?" He asked while getting me water. I took one more breath before answering, "around eleven-." afterwards chugging the water he gave me. He processed that. "hm..And what time did you wake up?" "One. One fifteen-?" He pursed his lips before giving me another plastic cup
Shot of water. Letting me finish drinking it before telling me something I didn't even think I needed. Typing on his computer and printing something out in the process. "Before you come back to work in a week, ima need you to go to the doctor's office and get a check up." He handed me the paperwork as I looked down at it in disbelief. "You're gonna need to bring those back with the doctor's signature on them, on Friday- and no you cannot skip out on these forms." "I don't get it Travis! I'm fine!" "You're apart of the police and got winded climbing up stairs." "I'm a desk job!" "-your body says otherwise." Silence fell over as I didn't have a come back for that. He tapped the papers. "By Friday!" I jokingly scoffed and got up to get my stuff. Going to my car when I finished but right before I got into the divers seat I was met with the devil dogs themselves. Jared and Nicole. "Heyy Luna, we just wanted to say we saw you in Travis's office looking winded... did you guys forget to close the blinds?..." she leaned in closer to whisper. ".. do i need to tell Tanner about this?" She smirked as Jared looked guilty. He was always the lesser of two evils but still.. evil. "You Can calm down Nicole. Nothing happened." I got in the car as she bent down to talk through the open window. "Oh yeah then-..." she stopped when she noticed the doctor's papers. "Wait.. are you-." "I'm fine. Now just leave me alone." In the brief time she stopped talking I decided to get out of there. Heading home for the... well the week as Travis put it. Carful to hide the papers from Tanner as I came through the door. "Hey hun Im home!" I closed the door as I turned to see Tanner with a cup of coffee and a creepy as ever smile. "You're home early... thought you said you'd come home at 10.. not 5." ".. yea, I had a light load today. Thought you might wanna go on a date." He snickered before standing up and walking over to me. Feeling my forehead and cheeks before whispering. "You're sick, Aren't you?" I rolled my eyes and pushed his hands off my face. "I'm fine. I just wanted to spend the day with you, that's all. But if you don't want to, that's fine too."
