Later that night it was time for Luna's big birthday surprise. A fancy roof top dinner at a high end restaurant. I originally just wanted it to be us today since I know how she likes the simple things but Layla upstaged my idea. Calling me unworthy of planning the party since shes the one who has known Luna for decades now. But I gotta admit. Sometimes.. I just don't like Layla all that much. Maybe it's because she's too loud for my taste or maybe she's too over whelming at times but either way, I didn't see eye to eye with her on this one. Luna enjoys the simple things. She's an introvert! so why force her to be on display on a day that's supposed to be relaxing? I get a lot of people want to see her today but why couldn't we have just seen a movie together or gone to the park to play volleyball?

I sighed as I heard the door to our room open with a creak. I turned and took a glance but quickly turned back to stare in awe. She usually dresses in dark undertones but today, since her dress had a few new holes in it, she changed into a new color. Red. And she looked awfully stunning in it. It was just right for her, not too bright but not too dark either. It was like it was tailored specifically for my Luna and I ate that moment up. So much so that I stood up and went to change. Today's a special occasion anyway, my usual will not do.

'That was weird..' I thought as Tanner had given me the goofy smile again, right before strolling off to the room to change. I didn't think much of it til I saw him leave the room after 10 minutes. Wearing a very overdressed suit and coat. I giggled. "What the- why are you so over dressed Tanner?" He scoffed a smile. "Whatever do you mean my dear? I'm simply trying to look good for a special day. - your birthday only happens once a year Ya know, so why not live in it?" I exhaled a small laugh before walking over to him. Tucking his tie in further and fixing his coat. "Well you look good." I kissed his cheek. "..love you!" He hummed his, already there smile, longer. "I love you too Luna. Now Cmon, we wouldn't want to be late now, would we?" I shook my head as he turned my around and lead me to the taxi waiting outside. I guess he called ahead, cause I don't really live in the city like he does. Taxis are a rarity here. The drive was nice. It was not too long but not too short either. Maybe 15-20 minutes. But luckily we had music to listen to. One earbud to each person. The driver was silent so I just cuddled up next to Tanner. Putting my head on his shoulder as we listened to a random podcast we found. Laughing at the parts we weren't supposed to as we tried to keep in our snickers.

When we got there, Tanner put me in front of him. Like I was a kid or something. Which wouldn't have bothered me so much if it weren't for the slow walking people In front of me. Like god Damn! Just MOVE.

So after 5 MINUTES OF WALKING ACROSS A HALLWAY, we got to the elevator. Only to find a line. We sighed and leaned against the wall to wait our turn. Tanner excused himself to use the bathroom as I held our spot. I should've been happy I was at a fancy hotel for my birthday and had just finished having a nice moment with my fiancé but deep down, I was in a Parallel. 'Do you really want to kill dad?- Patrick - yeah whatever, he raised you. He took care of you, fed you- i get it.- ...
do you remember that one time you two were on the couch watching a movie together? The girl in the movie got sold out by her father and when the bad guy came on screen, he leaned down to whispered "I would've fought in countless other wars, if it meant no one would ever treat my baby girl like that." Remember that? - yeah but that was before mom's passing. He.. he was a different man back then. And yes, I will admit, in those early days, he was my dad. But now- are you Fucking serious?! You saw him wait outside! You heard and witnessed how Sophie acts with him in her life. He's changed! He doesn't need to die-.'
