SIDE STORY PT. SIXTY ONE

15 minutes later and I had to get up. Luna would understand; it was for our own good after all!

"Goodnight Enigma; I love you." I whispered after giving her a kiss on the forehead. She wouldn't notice I was gone. And with that I was getting my suit on and my cologne sprit on me. Thank god I checked a mirror before I left, otherwise I would've gone with my hair a complete mess! Not a suitable presentation I say. Especially not for Adam..

I combed it back and checked the rest of my body just in case. 'Nothing out of the ordinary.' I told myself as I opened the door to leave. Checking Luna once more before stepping out onto the sidewalk. I hummed a melody while I walked. It was a little colder than before but then again It was 12:30 at night. A few minutes later and I was in front of the main building again. Going in and walking to the back where the private elevator was. I clicked the 5th floor button and froze in disgust as the doors closed. There, waiting for the elevator, were the same couple from before. They gave me a smirk but I wasn't interested in their little offer. Maybe if they had offered another way or had gotten to know us better.. but not when I'm on a romantic get away with my fiancé. That would defeat the whole purpose! None the less I stepped off when I reached a long hallway.  Only to be annoyed again with the sound of a familiar elevator ding! 'Oh god, please no. Not them.' I turned my head a little to see them talking and walking with each other. Too focused on themselves to notice me. I took that moment to walk to the banquet hall. Which was very nicely decorated if I might say. The chandelier above the table gave It just that extra amount of flare it needed. "Tanner." Lydia said while walking over. She was Adam's lady so I wasn't really surprised to see her here. "Yes Lydia?" I extended my smile when she showed my a paper. "Here's the seating chart. I don't know who Kelly is so I guess I'll be talking to you the whole meeting." She looked up at me while I was reading the paper. "Wipe that stupid ass smile off your face; it's so annoying." "Heh, have a bad Valentine's Day Lydia?" "Ugh, no! I did what I usually do Jack ass." "Which is?.." "I-... I had dinner with friends." "And?" "And what? Listen I'm not some sad sack who needs a date for Valentine's Day so don't even thin-." "Why would I think that? You forget, but I've been in your shoes before; for 3 years to be exact." "Uh huh. Sure. Like you were single for that long." "I was-!" "Aren't you 27-?" "29." ... "still. You were wayyy to young to be single. Maybe it's because-." "It's because I wasn't attracted to anyone." She lifted an eyebrow with a slight smirk. "Yeah, right." She laughed to herself before telling me to take a seat. I obliged Lydia's orders and sat down at our marked spots. I was in between Lydia and some other man so it didn't really register that Kelly was the woman from before. Until I got a glimpse of her and her husband sitting next to Lydia. 'The hell? Please don't tell me they're apart of the Nior.' They situated themselves before waving a wink at me. I forced my smile a little up before turning over to focus on the table. It was very awkward.

Ten minutes later and Adam came in with a group of Niors in suits. The Nior men marched to the walls of the room as Adam sat down. This made me nervous as only crime bosses do that when it's time to get rid of everyone. "Welcome! To the annual meeting of the associated." Adam groaned sitting down. Maybe he was annoyed or in the middle of something before coming here. "Today we'll be talking debts. And I hope everyone of you has kept in touch with your accountant because everyone here has at least $10,000 of worth owned to me." A Nior came around handing out paper before we all started writing down possible debts. 'Jeez this is like taxes.. one slip up and instead of jail we get...' I glanced up at Adam to find him tapping his fingers. 'Death?... -just think, what could Adam possibly want? Oo! 1:The file 2: Vincent's body 3: ...shit.'  I looked down at Lydia like a kid stuck on a test question. "What?" I scooted the paper over. "Mhm, what about it?" "do you know if I'm missing anything?" I whispered. She looked at the paper then back at me... then back at the paper and back at me.

Then again for good measure.

"What do I look like to you? Your mommy?" She slid the paper back over while scoffing. "Deal with that yourself." I rolled my eyes before remembering something. "Fine... I guess Luna will just have to do withou-." She grabbed the paper from me and started writing things down. Once she gave it back to me it only read a sentence. A note perhaps.

"You don't have any debts idiot." I wrote back: "what do you mean? Adam got rid of bodies for me." She read it then wrote again. "He'll talk to you about that later."

|LUNA|

I woke up to a vibrating phone. I groaned and groggily sat up to answer it. "Hello?" "Luna!" I mentally scolded myself for answering the phone. "Hey dad!..." he chuckled. "Whatcha doin Sweet pea?" I looked over with an annoyed look to a now gone Tanner. My facial expression dropped and got replaced with a sad look. I sighed. "Just watching Tv..." "uh-huh. And where's Tanner?" "Out.." my dad smacked his lips. "Aw, well that's a shame. But Hey, your birthdays coming up right? How about we hang out?" "No I don't think that's a good id-..." I stopped myself when I realized I could use that time to check up on Sophie. I smirked. "You know what? Yeah, I think that'll be fun. You can come over at 5." "Alright pumpkin. Love you." "Uh-huh." I hung up and shot up to victory dance. 'I Can finally put that bastard in ja-haillll!' I sang in my head before going into the kitchen to get a snack. The resort offered free snacks so.. I took a bag of M&M's.

'Damn it. I didn't even get to pull out the box...' the box I told Tanner not to look at. It was full of lingerie I had planned to use for the night; but since we got a little carried away it was left to it's own devices. I ate an M&M. 'My neck hurts. -well you did get bitten there..- did Tanner even notice the other bite marks he did? It feels like he did more than 3..-' I put down the M&M's and ran to the mirror. It took a hot minute but I finished counting. "6?!" I counted again, but sure enough there they were, all 6 of them. I poked one only to get a sting rush up my spine. I quietly groaned in pain. I couldn't believe Tanner would actually like this, but I guess it was a way for him not to actually eat me? If that makes sense..

I put my underwear and bra back on before going to the bed again. Flipping my phone over to see a call from Layla. 'She can wait a second..' I was beginning to get worried so I unlocked my phone to call Tanner. After 4 rings it went to his voicemail. I hung up before the message rang and called Layla back. Sure it bothered me that Tanner decided to run away after we just had sex but maybe he's out doing something important. "Luna! Happy Valentine's Day!" I giggled. "Happy Valentine's Day to you too Lay, why'd you call?" She happily sighed. "Oh you know, to get some new gossip. How was your night?" I could tell she was smirking on the other end but I played dumb. "Oh nothing eventful, we just ate and slept..I'm just kidding. It was great." "Heh-he, I can tell. Listen, you didn't happen to see anyone there right?" "No? wh-? Oo! There was this one couple. She and her husband tried having an orgy with Tanner and I. Heh- It was weird." Layla laughed with a hint of relief on her tongue. "Well at least you have a story to tell now." "Yeah, but what about you? How was your night?" "It was good actually. Laurence went to a-... a place, and Ein and I.. well you know." "Ewww you're so gross Layla." I jokingly said before Ein called her from the other room. She smacked her lips. "Sorry Luna I gotta go. I'll talk to you tomorrow." "Bye!" She hung up and I was left with an empty bed. I fixed Tanner's pillow before laying back down and staring at his empty spot. I sighed and brought my phone back out to call him again. Putting it on speaker and laying it on the bed. It rang. "Cmon Tan, pick up.." it rang three more times before voicemail again. I rolled my eyes as I started getting impatient. Calling his cell again before getting the same out come, but this time I left a voicemail. "After the tone, please record your message when you have finished recording you may hang up or press one for more options." It beeped before I spoke. "Hey stalker.. I just woke up, where are you? I'm starting to get worried." I went quiet for a second before taking a sigh of defeat. "Ok.. just call me back when you get this.. bye." I hung up and laid back to stare at the ceiling til I felt my phone vibrate again. My work vibration instead of my usual one. "Ughhh why do people feel like calling me on Valentine's Day??" I answered "hello?" "Hello Luna.. Listen, I'm sorry to be calling you right now but I need you to come in early tomorrow. I'll give you the rest of the day off but trust me. You're gonna wanna head this."
