"We're waitinggg Laurence!" Tanner said in a chipper cocky tone. "Shut up Tanner I'm planning!" "Planning what?" "MY VICTORY!"  Our parents laughed. "OH NO YOU DONT!" Layla exclaimed while pointing to me. I flipped my card in my fingers and showed them the reverse card I had saved up. "Oh no... no-no-no-no-no!" Laurence looked over to see Layla placing down the plus four color changing card. "I CHOOSE RED!" "NOOO YOU MONSTER! I HAD UNOOO!" We laughed at Laurence and proceeded with the game. At the end... Tanner won. "God damn it Tanner!" Laurence was mad but so was everyone else. "What? I just knew what was gonna happen!" He laughed out. "Or did you cheat?! You cheater!" Layla threw her crushed up napkin to him. He playfully shrugged while the others got ready to leave. It was one in the morning so we had to go to sleep. After all I had work in the morning.

I said goodbye at the door, while Tanner went out to talk to Ein about something. It was so fun having a day off from worrying and I was still smiling at the good day we had. "Hey Pumpkin!" "Yea dad?" "Hand Me a drink won't you?" I blew a raspberry and giggled. "Yea right, I think it's a little too late for that." I patted his shoulder while heading to the kitchen to clean up. "I said. Bring. Me. A. Beer. Luna." Another giggle, "mhm surA-." "Is that attitude in your mouth?" I froze in place. "Do I need to go over there and teach you a lesson?" His voice was harsh as he licked his lips, but I wanted to see if he was being serious or not, and if he was, why was he mad all of a sudden? We were having a good time an-. "LUNA!" I flinched with the familiar sound of his fist hitting the coffee table and scrambled to grab a beer. He was getting closer and closer to me. His lips moist and practically dripping in my fear. I handed it to him before he crossed the kitchen corridor. Which meant he would leave me alone. "Good. Now open it." I slowly turned to get a bottle opener. "With. Your. Hand." ... I was shaking and turned back around. He was inching closer to the corridor. 'Shit-. Don't curse in front of him.' My hand quaked to the cap and the familiar sound of my skin braking greeted me as my hand felt a sharp pain. A little bit of blood came from my hand and I handed him the beer. "Good girl.. but you missed something.." I looked around but didn't see anything. "Its not there.. Pump-kin." His sinister chuckle rang in my ear while his hand guided my chin down.. his foot was across the corridor. My eyes shot open and my head went up. "no... please-.." my voice croaked but his hand was already on the back of my neck. "I noticed you and that boy have been alone together all day, and if I'm being honest I don't like that so tell me are you still pure-..." One second later and we would've kissed but instead he swerved our heads to a hugging position when Tanner came in the door. "Hey! Sorry I took so long, business conversations take some time." I was catching my breath from the adrenaline rush and my dad put on his best smile. "I love You so much Pumpkin!" "U-huh... i love you too dad.." I cautiously patted his back before he gave my forehead a kiss and turned around to greet Tanner. "It's not problem son, I get it. Ya know I was a business major in college."

My dad gave Tanner all the attention in the world. But Tanner didn't even give a single shit. Instead of making eye contact with the man who was supposed to intimidate him he only looked at me. The creepy smile brining back memories from the night we met. "Darling, you look flushed." Tanner ducked under my dads embraceful arm and walked over to me. Holding my head and checking my pulse on my neck while also checking my eyes for puffiness. "Do you have a fever?" "No-no I'm fine.. I just got a little scared. Horror movies make me jumpy and I watched one yeste-." "You're nose is twitching and your eyes are watery." I stared at him in disbelief.
