And hour passed and it was now 9 at night. I waited at the table. No one coming in the door. My chicken and rice getting colder and colder by the second but no one eating with me. I waited an hour more. My food had gone cold and no sign of arrival rang on my phone. 'Shit. Did I scare him off?' I got up from my seat and went to the window. Nothing. I got more anxious and sat back down. Waiting all night til a sense woke me up.

I sat up on my side of the bed, the adrenaline rush filling my head with all types of worry but none of it was valid as I saw Tanner wasn't gone. In fact he came home around 8 yesterday. Just like he said he would. Nothing to worry about at all. His eyes opened when I sat up in a rush. "Doing ok Enigma?" "Yea-Yea, just a nightmare.." I said while catching my breath. "Go back to sleep, I'm gonna get a glass of water." I pushed the blanket off and walked to the kitchen. Filling up my cup before going over to my computer: 'what time is it?... Three A.m?!' I sighed and clicked on a report. 'Might as well get some work done.' I sipped my water and read through the report. 'I'm a new nurse at the local hospital and I've been living with a group of friends for a while. Ones I know from college to help pay rent. It's been going good, but every night one of my friends, Darek, brings home a new girl. Who kinda looks out of it. They have slurred speech and have bad hand to eye coordination. I test this by throwing every one of the girls a pack of gum. They all miss it. And I know Darek is my friend and all but I have a sneaking suspicion he's drugging his "Dates." Can you please check for me?' I opened DMV DB to get his license and soon enough I finished getting the four evidence I needed to push to detectives. "I guess I'll do another one.." I whispered in a monologue type voice. But as I clicked on the document a hand crashed down on my shoulder and hand that was on my mouse.

Leading it to shut down my computer for the night. "It's 3:30 in the morning. You and I need to get some rest." "I'm not tired." "That doesn't mean you can't come to bed." "It's not like I need to sleep, I mean I'm just gonna go dress shopping in the morning." "Dress shopping?" He turned my chair around. "For what?" I sighed. "My dads wedding..." "you're gonna go? After that??" I nodded and he exhaled while putting his head down on my knees. "It's not like I want to but I need to know if he's doing the same thing he did to me as a kid. And if he is I'm gonna put his ass in jail." He opened my legs and brought me closer, hugging around my waist with his head close to me stomach. "Just don't do anything you might regret. Like.. not taking me with you." "I can do this alone Tanner." "I knows our can, in fact you can accomplish a lot of things when you're alone. But that doesn't change the fact he likes it when you're by yourself." ... "fine... you can come." He smiled on my skin before playfully teasing me with a bite on my mid drift.

The morning came and Tanner went back to the lab to get the results. While I on the other hand went to Layla and Laurence's house. They moved out of their parents house a while ago but Laurence moved in with Layla. To help with the baby. Which was ironic since Layla asked me to watch the baby today. Everyone was out working so I decided to challenge myself and spend the day with baby Lucinda. I knocked and Laurence answered. "Hey what's up?" "Hey uh-, Layla told me to watch the baby." "Oh, shit she forgot to tell you. I called off but you can stay and hang out if you want." "Sure. Tanner's at work so I'll stay with you guys." I walked in and sure, it might've looked bad if it was just Laurence but the baby was here too so what could he possibly do? I put down my bag and hung my coat on the coat rack. "Where's Lucinda?"
