SIDE STORY PT. THIRTEEN

I parked the car next to my house "come on in, I'll patch you up." He didn't talk back or protest as he walked in. I grabbed my med kit and a bottle of wine to ease the pain. I handed it to him as I sat down next to him. "Drink up." He took it in his hand and drank some, he then offered me to take a sip. I shook my head "I don't feel like it tonight." He shrugged and took another swig before placing the bottle down. He had a slash in his arm that was pretty bad. I guess it was from the needle. I got rubbing alcohol in a cotton ball before dabbing it on the cut and cleaning it. Tanner groggled in pain as I quickly finished the irritating part and placed the ball next to me to grab the towel. I wiped the blood away and Tanner held the towel in place while I threaded the needle. "Now this parts gonna hurt a lot more so.. my apologies in advance." Jesus I was starting to talk like him to.. I pushed the thought out of my head and moved the towel. The needle went in his skin pretty smooth for the first time. "Is this your first time getting stitches?" He nodded as he but his lips to hide the pain. "I know big guy, just hold in there a for a few more minutes." I got done in 4 minutes, making sure I was doing it right each time. I wrapped some bandages around it to make it more secure before telling him to take off his dress shirt. "You're gonna stay the night. It'll be wreckless of you to drive while drunk." "Aww, Just admit you're worried for me." He was droopy, I didn't think the wine was that strong. I patted his shoulder "get comfortable." He sighed and took off his dress shirt, for that only his under shirt was on. It made him look even hotter for some reason.

Maybe It's because I never got to see him with normal clothes on. He lied down on the couch as I got him a blanket. I tucked him in and kissed him goodnight. He snuggled to my touch and fell asleep pretty quickly. I softly smiled at the adorable sight then went to my room to change and sleep. I woke up around 2:20 pm. I was exhausted the night before so it didn't surprise me. I got up with a yawn and stretch to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I finished and went to the kitchen, Tanner wasn't on the couch anymore. Or anywhere to be honest. My eyes were drawn to the flowers, book, and salad on the table when I reached the kitchen. It made me smile that he was still doing aftercare. I sat down to eat and started the book. Later on after I ate I got a jar to put the flowers in.Suddenly my phone vibrated while I was adjusting them. I picked it up without looking at the caller "Hello?" "Hey Luna!" It was Layla. "Oh hey, what's up?" "I just wanted to know if you wanted to hang out tonight? Just us girls, I have news to tell you." "Sure what time?" She hummed a hmmm as she thought about it. "Around 8?" "Yea sounds good. Just come by my house." "Alright see you then." I hung up and went back to adjusting the flowers. Once they were in the pose I liked I decided to catch up on Gotham til she got here.

~TIME SKIP~

I ended up taking a nap, and I thought I woke up in my room. I stood up and for some reason felt a lot of weight on me. I looked down and saw nothing. Weird. I walked out anyway with the extra weight. Once I reached the living room I saw Vincent and Tanner. "Guys?.." they turned their heads as Vincent spoke "hello sunshine. Have a good nights rest?" "Wait what's happening? Didn't you-." I was interrupted with a beeping sound. Tanner shot up and spoke "I guess it's ready now!" Vincent walked to the kitchen as I followed. They were both smiling as they took out a single roll from the oven. Vincent poked it "yup it's ready." Tanner grabbed a plate and served it to me. "What's this?" "It's a bun." They both stared at me til I took a bite out of it. It made me want to throw up. I didn't want to be rude but it just came up. I ran to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet. Tanner and Vincent came in shortly after I was puking my guts out. The laughed together "that'll happen." When I finished I wiped my mouth "what did you guys do to me?" They stopped laughing and held a smile while My vision went blurry.

I woke up with a knock at the door. I scooted the blanket away and answered the door. It was Layla.
"Hey girl.. what's wrong? You look tired." I shrugged and let her in "I had a nightmare. But it was nothing." "What was it about?" I scoffed a laugh to myself before talking, but right as I opened my mouth Layla noticed something and touched my shirt. "LUNA!" She had a big smile on her face as I noticed she was looking at the marks the 2 men left on me. I covered myself back up and blushed while she tugged on my arm "No! No! You have to tell me about it! Was it good?!" She gasped "Was it with TANNER?!" I thought for a moment and nodded my head. "Don't say anything though!" She fangirled a but before going back to a serious tone "wait...were you guys safe?" My eyes widened as I realized. "No! OH MY GOD, SHIT." We got up and panicked for a little before deciding on going to the store and buying 2 pregnancy tests. Just to make sure.

"Listen. We can't tell Tanner." "What? Why not?"
"Because." "Because what? He has the right to know. And besides what are you gonna say when he asks why your stomach has grown 4 times it's size?" I sighed "I'll tell him it's not his and that's It's Travis's." I know the test is going to end up negative but it was good to plan out everything in the open. She sighed "alright. But just know I'll always be here to help you out." She gave me a soft smile and nodded. Shortly after coming back from the market we went to the bathroom as I did both tests. Now it was time to wait. "Why can't you want to tell Tanner?" There was a brief moment before I answered "It's complicated." "If the tests come back positive then..I'll spend the night and help you out as much as I can. I'll even back up your story that it was Travis's. But in return you have to tell me why it's complicated. Got it? I won't even judge I'll just listen." I nodded "alright. But I seriously doubt they'll be positive. Think about it, how possible is it that this one time I get pregnant?" I smirked as she nodded in agreement. "True." We laughed as a few more minutes went by before the tests were ready. She decided to look at it first and threw it away in the trash. "Fluke." She giggled, but then stopped when she saw the other one. Her eyes widened as she took a look at me then my belly. "Luna..." I stepped back in disbelief. "Say you're just kidding." She shook her head and showed me the test.

Positive.

I covered my mouth. "I'm sorry but we have to tell Tanner. He'll understand-." "No!" I fell to the ground and dug my face in my arms that rested on my knees. "W-we-." She came down to my level and lifted my head "what happened?" A tear rolled down my face before I spoke softly. "Because...I don't even know if it's his.." I hugged her when she asked "was there someone else?" I nodded in her hold "was he on the side or.." I shook my head "he was there that night." She inhaled deeply before letting go and rubbing my back and patting my head. I cried and cried while she comforted me. "We'll deal with this... it'll be fine. My family and I will help you." "Are you sure?..." I sniffled. "Yea. Just let me call home." She got her phone from her pocket and put them on speaker. "Hey honey! When are you gonna be home?" Her mom said. "Hey mom, I'm with Luna. Am I on speaker?" "Mhm were putting up the tree. Say hi everyone." Her dad and Laurence said hi as Her mom giggled. "So why'd you call on the home phone? Did something bad happen?" Her mom teased with a joking tone. "Uh..not exactly..." "Oh? What happened?" I could hear everyone stop what they were doing. Layla sighed. "Luna..is..pregnant." Another moment later and we heard ornaments drop. "CONGRATULATIONS!" Her mom was extremely happy. "We'll be here for you no matter what Luna!" Her dad yelled form across the room. In a cheery tone. Laurence on the other hand didn't say anything. The next thing we heard was a door slam and her mom ask "where are you going?" She sighed "that's great news girly. I hoped your happy." "Thanks mam." "No problem." We hung up as I stayed in her hug a little bit longer. But was interrupted by a anxious knock at the door. We gave each other a look before going to answer it. I sat down on the couch while Layla opened the door only for Laurence to burst in. He looked around before landing his eyes on me. He charged over and put his hands around my stomach gently. "Is it Tanners?" I shrugged "I-I.." "wait!" Layla came over to us. "Do you two..was this the other guy?!" I shook my head as Laurence and I aggressively denied it. "Other guy? What are you talking about?!" I sighed as Layla explained. Once she did they both sat next to me. Demanding to know what happens.

I took it all in before taking a deep breath and telling them everything. EVERYTHING. It went a little bit like this...

"Ok so I was doing my daily reports when I noticed there were 2 men trying to get in my house. This goes on for 10 nights til one night one of the men got in while I was asleep. That man was...Tanner." They both looked shocked and were deeply interested in the story. "He took me to a secret place as we talked for a little then he handed me a file. Theee file." Laurence was confused "what file?" I exhaled "the file on Vincent Opa. The blue blood killer." They looked at me surprised "damnnn." Layla said impressed. We laughed as they told me to go on. "Ok so the night I hooked up with my boss Tanner was there. Travis had gotten disappointed that I didn't get jealous over him and another girl so I felt kinda bad. I ordered a drink and drank it pretty fast so I ordered another and was in the middle of it when Tanner gently put my drink down and told me to slow down. I thanked him for the file before the hook up. And after Tanner was outside the bathroom and  drove me home. Blah blah blah then our date happened then... the night after the shoot...I went out on patrol without telling any of you. And..Vincent was in the back of my car with a knife. He scared me so much that I did what he asked. Nothing really sexual happened til one night he took me to a club. Later on in the night we ran into Tanner and Vincent wanted to talk alone, then it just...happened."  Layla did a realization moment while Laurence was in shock. They hugged me and told me it would be ok.
