75. Medication.

'Go around.' Half the group goes the other way around as we close in on them. Corpse stays between me and Jackson. 'Move in.' I say as the others stand ready. They head in first, Eversman leading the way. Right when I step into the building, corpse leans all his weight in me, making me nearly fall over. I hit the wall, keeping us both up. 'What-' he is tensed up and looks in pain. His breathing is shallow as he sweats. 'Corpse?' I hold him up properly. He pats his chest, showing that that's the problem. 'I... need my meds.' He says. I help him back out and sit him next to the wall. 'Where do you have them?' I ask. 'Backpack.'. Shit. We don't know where it is.

The guys get Eve's team out one by one.

'Get them!' I yell as I see two of the remaining ones of Eves group run off. Jackson jumps them, getting both pinned to the ground. I grab Eves collar 'why?! You didn't have to.' I yell at her. She grins. 'It was my idea.' Maddison says as Eversman holds her back. He roughly pushes her to the ground so she's sitting down. 'Where's his bag?!' I growl. 'How would I know.' She says with a smile. I pull her from the wall before pushing her back into it. 'His fucking medication is in it!' I yell at her, needing to keep myself from hurting her even more.
Her expression shows she didn't know.
'Look at him.' I say as I pull her so she can see. Corpse is sitting on the ground against a tree as he holds his hand over his stomach. He's pale and obviously in pain. 'You proud of yourself? You wanted to get to me so badly you hurt him like this?! Who the fuck even are you.' I say the last part sounding disappointed and sad as I let her go. 'Amelia I-' I turn away. I start to walk from them 'wait....' I turn back. 'Abusive.' I say as I walk back over to Maddison. 'Abusive? You fucking bitch.' I say as I kneel down in front of her. 'You knew. You've been with him for a while.' I say. She shrugs. Eversman grabs my arm to stop me from reaching for her. 'He needs that medication.' I say. 'It... it'll be fine.' Corpse says in a even rougher voice. 'Jesus.' Eversman says. Corpse seems sad. And not exactly because he's in pain. 'You- she-' smithy jogs up 'got it!' He says with a bright smile. He holds out the backpack. I look at him. 'Smithy! You're amazing!' I say as I hug him. He giggles 'thank you!'

Corpse takes his medication and we wait till he's feeling better. 'What do we do with them?' Eversman asks. 'Pick some men you want to go with you. We're going to look for Marksen's group.' I say. He lets out a laugh. 'Sure cause he's easy to take down.' I raise my eyebrow. 'We won't need all of his men. Two or three maybe?' I say, he smirks and nods 'alright, smart enough, a few of his guys would make the difference.' He says. 'Exactly.' I say. 'So I'll keep Williams and Brooks.' He says. 'Don't let them go. Especially Corporal Harris and her friend.' I say. He nods 'yes ma'am.'

We can't find any of his guys before dawn, he's too skilled.
When it's light he walks up, making me grin. 'Mother fucker.' I say as we hug briefly. He looks at Eve's group. 'Jesus, thought I was smart by staying away from you. Turns out no one can outdo our female Lieutenant.' He says. I laugh 'hiding is not like you.' I say. 'It is when I know who I go against.' He says. 'Sargent!' Eversman says as he claps Marksen on his back. 'No sign of you all night.' He says. 'No knew it was better to just stay away.' Marksen says. Corpse walks up, placing his hand on my back, turning my attention to him. 'Feeling better?' I ask as I pat his chest. 'Yes.' He says as he smiles softly.

The truck comes, giving breakfast and checking the end score.
Corpse coughs every once in a while. Smithy offers him tea and Jonson hands his extra jacket over to him. 'Thanks guys.' Corpse says. Eve walks over. I glare at her, warning her for anything. 'I... I'm sorry for what happened earlier. The lake was going too far, we're not supposed to do things like that, and.... and I didn't know about your medication. Maddison.... said some things about you and-' 'it's okay.' Corpse says as he places his hand on her arm. 'It's fine. Like you said, you didn't know.' He says. Eve tears up. 'I'm sorry I doubted you.' She says as he hugs him 'You're way to kind. I'm so sorry.' She says.

We get on our way back to the main building.
