I watch as they bring Evan out of his room, still laying in the bed. 'I'll be right here when they're done.' I say. He holds my hand and smiles softly. 'Thanks. Stay strong for the both of us.' He says. 'I will, you just make sure to get your ass out of that surgery.' I say. 'Will do.'

Corpse waits from me by the car. He opens the door for me so I get in.
'What did she tell you?' I ask. Aiden looks at me as het buckles his seatbelt. 'Whatever it is that you should tell me?'

I don't think I can do this on a regular basis. 'Corpse...' I don't know how to do this 'I don't want to take work home with me.' His grip on the stirring wheel tightens. 'So you just leave me guessing? Watch you hurt by what you've seen on your own.' He says. 'And you? Do you think it's better for you to know all the terrible things I've seen?' I ask. He frowns 'I don't know till you tell me.' I take a deep breath and stay quiet. 'Amelia, Why is it so "insanely" hard for you to talk to me about what happens?' I look out the window, While trying to think of whether or not the tell him at least a little bit, he hits the brakes.

The car comes to an abrupt stop in the middle of the quiet road and he turns to me. 'Tell me something.' He says in anger. I hesitate still but I force myself to tell him, he doubts me enough as it is. 'People get shot. I watch people die or bleed to death under my care.' I say as I look at my lap. 'So, that's so hard to tell me?' I clench my jaw 'you don't understand.' I say. 'Is it now? I get that that happens. There is more to everything then that.' I dare to look him in his eyes, why is he making this so hard for me. 'why don't you tell me, anything.' He says. 'I... I don't think I can.' I say as I hold onto the hem of my sweater. 'Don't lie.' He snaps. 'I just don't want to burden you or myself with everything that happend. Why in the world would I not fucking trust you?' I say now breaking at how forcing he's being.

'So you just don't want me to know anything at all?' He asks. 'I'm telling you I don't want to relive what happens. Why are you being so pushy about this?' I say 'don't be fucking ridiculous.' 'I don't know what else to tell you.' I say quietly. He scoffs 'you could at least be honest and tell me you don't trust me enough to let me in like that.' He says. 'You don't trust me either, guessing by badly you want to know.' I say back in defense. He looks away 'I don't believe you.' He says with the lightest disappointment in his voice.

He starts the car 'corpse, what would you expect? I see the most horrible things, and when I get home, finally away from it all, I want to tell you all about it?' I tell him. His knuckles turn while and he clenches his jaw but he stays silent.

We arrive at the apartment complex and head. It's quiet on our way up, and when inside he heads straight to his office, slamming the door shut.

He stays inside of the office for the rest of the day. After I cooked dinner I walk up to the office door and knock twice 'I'm working.' Corpse's deep voice says. 'It's late, I made dinner.' I say. 'I'm not hungry, eat without me.' He says. He sounds annoyed. Feeling bad I sit down on the couch with my plate, suddenly not having an appetite either.

Taking what I made with me, I head out to Selene in corpse's old apartment. I walk over to the door and knock. It opens after a bit. 'Amy?' Selene says surprised. 'Happened to have cooked?' I ask. 'No, not yet.' She says. 'I cooked but we're not hungry.' I say. 'Why, something wrong?' Surprised by her question, I break eye contact. 'Come in for a bit.' She says. I step into the neat apartment. Selene takes the food 'so tell me what's going on.' She says as she puts it on a plate. 'Corpse is mad at me for not telling him anything about my deployments, or bad things that happened to me.' I explain. 'If it was up to me I wouldn't have told him either.' Selene says as I follow her to a small dinner table.

'But he asked me if I trusted him earlier, and I couldn't answer because I don't want to talk about anything from work.' I say. 'And both of you aren't eating because?' I sigh 'ever since we came back he was quiet and he has been in his office. I told him dinner was done but he didn't want it.' Selene smiles sympathetically 'corpse can be stubborn. I don't know what is going on in his head but.... I don't know.... seeing how he doubts you, you may need to swallow the rough moments and tell him some things.' I think of her words 'just.... don't give up on him, please.' As she says the last thing I look her over. At least she seems to trusts me. But she's different. 'I'll try.' I say.

I leave her to eat and head back.

When I get in corpse is still in his office. He hasn't eaten a lot today and I want him to look after himself, so I walk up to his office and open the door without knocking 'eat something. You may be mad at me but that's no reason to not take care of yourself.' He's not even looking up 'like you've eaten yourself.' He says. He turns a paper over 'just talk to me.' I say. His eyes snap up 'bold move to tell me to when you don't either.' He says. 'How can you be this upset about it?' I ask. He stands up 'would be smart to ask me that, wouldn't it.' I fold my arms 'fine. So now what, you're just going to be mad?' I ask. 'I need you to get out of the office.' Really? He's just going to set me aside. How long will he do that. 'Wh-'

'get out!'
