The dance.
Its what I've been most nervous about.
Its a fancy dance and I can't really dance. I've been trying to see If corpse is nervous as well, but he walks over with a calm smile as he takes my hand. Everyone makes room for us. 'Corpse I-'
He lays his hand on my hip as the other holds my own. When I look up to meet his eyes my words just come to a stop. 'Selene trained me for this dance.' He says. I chuckle in response 'oh god.' I say.
A nice and calm song starts and I follow corpse's lead. He leans closer to me 'you look godlike.' He says. I smile, my hand resting on his shoulder as I squeeze the hand that's intertwined with mine, the feeling of the ring still new around my finger. 'You've been saying that the entire day.' I say back just as softly. 'Because it's true.' He low voice reaches my ear as his breath can be felt on my neck. 'Well you look very good yourself. I'll have to fight girls off if you'd go out like this.' I say. He chuckles and pulls me even closer, resting his head on mine as we now only sway while slowly spinning in circles.
We sit at a table and people talk.
My mind is far, the murmuring of people the only thing reaching me. 'Darling.' The hand on mine snaps me out of thought. 'Everything okay?' Corpse asks. 'Yeah.... just tired.' I say with a tired smile. 'I feel you.' He says as he sighs and sits back in his chair.
After the party is over, it's late at night. Evan is the last person to leave. He pats corpse on his shoulder, then moves to hug me. I cling to him 'thank you.' I whisper. 'Always.' He says back. He lets me go and holds my shoulders. He looks at me for a second before sighing and looking at corpse. 'Keep her safe.' He says. Corpse nods 'of course.' He says.
'Night Guys.'
Corpse and I wave 'goodnight.'
