Bimbus purrs on my chest as I lay in bed. It's been four day and I didn't hear anything yet. Have I gone to far? Am I overreacting? She didn't do anything wrong, but then why did I get so upset?

I sigh as I place my hands over my face.
'Please just come back.'
I waited half a year. Six months of her being deployed. She gets back and now this. I miss her. What if she doesn't come back and I've crossed the line? What if......

My hands start to shake a little as my mind runs wild.
What if she's gone and isn't coming back.

I groan into my pillow. The small room the only place to hide away.

Why?

Why did it have to go like this? Why do I keep doing things wrong in his eyes?
Do I just not see what I'm doing wrong?

A week later I'm getting my things and i get ready to head home. I take a deep breath as I pick up my bag and check if I'm leaving the room like protocol. There's a knock on my door. I open it to see one of Marksen's guys. 'Ma'am.... is, is.....' he doesn't really know what to say, they boy is young. 'Is the Sargent okay?' He asks as he seems upset. I step forward, making him step back so I can lock the rooms door. 'Are the others in the field?' I ask. 'Yeah, training is starting in 10 minutes.' He answers. 'I'll tell all of you, come on.' I say.

I walk out to find all of them in the pouring rain. 'Lets head inside fella's, I have something to share.' I say. They all know it must be about their sargent. We head in and sit down in an empty classroom. The boy who came to me seems upset and nervous.

'Your Sargent is alive, for the most of it.' I say. 'He was about to die in the hospital last week, but the tough son of a bitch lived on.' I say. They all seem relieved and some chuckle at my use of words. 'He got injured protecting me from an rpg. Then we missed the evac and were stranded.' I say. 'Then How did he get back?' One asks. 'I carried him out of the city and the red zone so they could pick us up.' I say. They look at me in silence. 'Seeing how that took eight hours, his injuries worsened by the bumpy ride and duration of the internal bleeding.' I go on. Some make pained faces. 'In the hospital, he was recovering till he decided to go for a walk on his own and fell. They called me in the early morning to come and say goodbye to him.' I say. The amount of emotion on everyone's face shows that they really care about and respect their Sargent. 'Though, like I said, once I did, he started to struggle against what was keeping him asleep. He's alive, but very weak.' I say.

'I hope I have informed you enough.' I say. Everyone stands up at once and salutes in sync. The feeling I can only get when here. In the army. Rushes through me as I look at the well trained soldiers. 'Thank you for your time, you are dismissed.' I say. The all stand before their table, not saluting, but still as neatly. 'Lieutenant, is there any chance we can visit him?' They ask. He smile and look down 'he trained some loyal ones, huh.' I say more to myself. 'I'll try to see what I can do. I'll come find you when I know more.' I say. The person who asked nods. 'Alright, get out, I gotta go.'
