The Quartet made their way up to the castle and into the Great Hall for the start of term feast. Harry, Hermione and Ron all sat together whilst Cassie went and joined the twins along with Lee Jordan.
After the whole incident on the train Cassie wanted to distance herself from the trio as much as possible. Part of her felt guilty. If her deranged father hadn't of escaped, the dementor wouldn't of been searching the train and wouldn't of hurt Harry. Even though her father escaping wasn't her fault, and the dementor attack wasn't her fault either she couldn't help but feel responsible for it.
Dumbledore began his annual welcome back speech which honestly bored the life out of Cassie. The man often spoke in riddles and never made any sense to her.
She sat with her head on Fred's shoulder not really paying attention to what the Headmaster was saying, only hearing a few parts of his speech. She had heard him introduce the new Defence Against Dark Arts professor and clapped for him as after all he did save her and Harry from the dementor.
Whispers broke out from all around the Hall that gained Cassie's attention. She knew Dumbledore must've mentioned Sirius Black as all eyes were on her. She felt as if she was suffocating. Usually stares before never bothered her, but now she could feel the fear and resentment in everyone's eyes and she was terrified. She could feel her foot starting to bounce up and down off the floor. She could taste blood in her mouth from where she had been biting her cheek too hard. Fred noticed her obvious discomfort and reached his hand out placing it infront of her so she could play with the two rings he had. Over the past two years Fred had noticed that she suffered from anxiety slightly and he knew of ways to help her calm down. Allowing Cass to hold his hand and play with the rings he had, help ground her and distract her enough to calm herself down.
Dumbledore explained how the dementors would be stationed around Hogwarts and to be wary of them as they weren't kind and forgiving creatures. "No shit." Cassie thought to herself.
Everyone crowded in the corridors trying to get back to their common rooms after being dismissed by Dumbledore. Cass was walking with the twins again discussing prank ideas for this year. She could hear people talking about her and she could feel their gazes linger towards her, yet she tried her hardest to ignore them.
They had almost made it to the common room when she had heard a Hufflepuff by the name of Zacharias Smith shout "Watch out she's going to kill us, she's just like her father!" she wanted to ignore him but she just couldn't. She grabbed him by his tie and pulled him close to her so her lips were inches away from his ear.
She whispered tauntingly "I won't, but i'll make sure you're on the top of daddy's kill list."
She smirked evilly at the boy before pushing him against the wall roughly and sent a horn tongue hex his way so he couldn't say anything else about her before walking away.
