"Missed me?" Cassie asked, a lot shakier than she had expected.
Hermione and Ron were both speechless. Of course they knew Cassie was back, but seeing her was a whole new wave of emotions they did not expect.
"Cassie!" Hermione cried, tears quite literally flooding her face as she flew to grab Cassie, nearly knocking her off her feet.
Cassie froze. She obviously missed Hermione as they were like sisters, despite their differences they had, but this was too much.
"Jesus 'mione." Ron gasped. "You're gonna bloody kill her in a minute."
Hermione soon let Cassie go, much to her relief.
"You're right Ron, I mean look! She's far too skinny, too pale too." Hermione cried.
Both Harrys and Ron's jaws dropped.
Of course she looked different, she had been Voldemorts puppet for half a year."Cheers, charming as ever. Not like I was fucking tortured or anything." Cassie scoffed.
The carriage went quiet for a long second.
It wasn't like Cassie was oblivious to her own reflection in the mirror, but was it truly that bad?"Oh no, I didn't mean it like that at all! I mean, we're just all so happy to see you, and it's been a while. I was shocked, and overwhelmed with all these different emotions and I just didn't think—" Hermione rambled on.
"Want a chocolate frog?" Ron asked, as Cassie took her seat next to Harry whilst Hermiones voice flooded the compartment.
Things felt normal from that point on.
There was still a few tears shed from Hermione, but everything began to feel as it was before.
Although, judging from their past records maybe that isn't a good thing.Once they arrived at Hogwarts Station, the stares began again.
Everybody knew.
They might have not known the full story, but parts they knew.Children of Order members and believers knew one version, whereas children of the Death Eaters knew the other.
Muggleborns knew rumors and everyone else knew what had been written in the Daily Prophet.
Although what the Daily Prophet wrote was probably not much better than what the Death Eaters told their darling children.Hagrid was over the moon to see her as he escorted them onto their carriage back to the castle, firmly instructing Cassie that a visit to see Fangs was a necessity in the very near future.
She would definitely be taking him up on that offer. The feast in the Great Hall was anything but great.
It was an eerie affair with a general cloud of darkness among everyone, and the constant stares towards Cassie.
Many Gryffindors, and a few from other houses on the tables near wished her well, and were happy she had returned, but Cassie payed no attention to them.
She only had her eyes on two people.
Her godfather who was sat next to Minnie, which she still wasn't sure if he or moony was her actual godfather as Sirius still hadn't cleared that up.
