The worst horrors are usually the indescribable ones, yet Cassie could describe every last detail of Malfoy Manor and the cellar she was trapped in. It was etched into her memory, scarring and traumatizing her for life. Every time she closed her eyes in a desperate attempt to escape her new reality, she was thrown straight back into the hell she endured daily.

The only thing that brought her comfort was knowing that stars painted the sky above, even if she couldn't see them, she laid beneath them every night, and so did her Dad. He was always with her, no matter the distance.

And Sirius never stopped searching.
He bought a new house, one much bigger, and with far too many rooms for when his daughter did return.
Every day, bright and early Sirius, James and Remus would search far and wide. Aurors would occasionally join them, though only a select few who understood the importance of Cassie in this war. Too many people already knew what she was capable off.

They searched far and wide, chasing every potential lead they had, but still as it approached November, Cassie was no where to be found.

Harry struggled being back at Hogwarts without Cass, as did Ron and Hermione.
Ron buried himself into Quidditch and a new girlfriend. Lavender Brown.
After making the team as Goalkeeper he practiced every night. That kept his thoughts spiraling into worst case scenario regarding Cassie.
Having a girlfriend to snog was another way to keep the thoughts away, at first atleast.

Hermione threw herself into her studies, even more than the years before, brushing it off as revision for her N.E.W.T.S . It was also a way to avoid Ron Weasley and Lavender Brown.

The only thing keeping Harry from falling completely off the face of the earth, was the book belonging to the Half Blood Prince. It consumed him completely, it was the first thing he thought about when he woke up, and the last thing he thought about before falling asleep, besides from his missing girl friend of course.

Effie struggled the most.
It was all her fault after all, Cassie would still be here if it wasn't for her reckless actions and getting caught.

That's what she told herself.
Over and over again. Her grades dropped, to the point where Madam Maxine was seriously beginning to consider expelling the girl.
Effie would do absolutely anything to trade places with Cassie right now, and that's all she could think about.

Her mind was constantly on Cassie. Where her best friend could be, was she hurt and was she even alive.

Cassie was alive, though barely. Some days she felt as if she had died, though that would be too easy.
Voldemort wouldn't let the only thing keeping him from conquering the entire Wizarding World die, but he also couldn't let her go.

Cassie refused to talk, not giving anything away to Voldemort. It infuriated him, massively, but it didn't matter whether Cassie spilled her secrets to him or not, he still had the advantage. With Cassie in his possession, Dumbledore couldn't use her to annihilate him, and he loved it.

Having Cassie as his new toy was fun.
She would either destroy the world with him, or he could destroy her. He found both options thoroughly amusing.

"Join us!" Voldemort cackled.

"Do you ever get sick of the sound of your own voice?" Cassie laughed, wiping blood off of her leg. "Or, are you just thick in the head? For the fucking tenth time, i'm not joining you wankers."
