James had been pacing in his classroom ever since Cassie had left, which was nearly three hours ago.

James knew it was too early for Cassie to be back at school, Sirius, Remus and him had lengthy conversations over Christmas about it.

They all had their doubts, she hadn't even been home for 2 weeks.

Dumbledore pushed and pushed,  stating that Cassie needed to be at Hogwarts and that it was the best place for her.

Sirius had told him no, on multiple occasions. He knew his daughter, Hogwarts wasn't where she needed to be at the moment.

Dumbledore wouldn't stand down though, every day he would be back with another reason why Cassie was best to be at Hogwarts.

It was three days before everyone was due to arrive at Hogwarts when Dumbledore made his last visit to Sirius.

He proposed that if Cassie did not return to Hogwarts, the Ministry would get involved.
Dumbledore had expressed that despite everything Cassie had endured, she must still be in education at Hogwarts as it was compulsory.

Dumbledore threatened that the Ministry would remove Cassie from him without a second thought, and that wasn't something he was risking.

Cassie having to return was partly the reason James took the job at Hogwarts.
Despite the returning back from the dead shenanigan, he was a much better option than a Werewolf or a previously accused, but innocent, mass murderer who both wanted to go.

As James was facing his own dilemma, Harry also was.

Cassie wasn't actually expecting to fall asleep with Harry, she was prepared to lay awake for hours until the morning as she would usually do.

Sometime after closing her eyes as Harry fell asleep, Cassie unexpectedly did too.

It was quiet at first, her head empty for a short while. But then it started, the nightmares plagued her mind and she was brought back there.

Harry woke, Cassie's tossing disturbing his sleep.

"Stop moving Black, i'm trying to sleep." Harry grumbled, laughing whilst still half asleep.

When Cassie didn't answer to tell him to fuck off, and the fidgeting only got worse Harry became more alert, pushing himself up onto his elbows and adjusting to the darkness.

"Cassie, wake up." Harry said, his tone more alarming as he noticed her clammy skin and the tear stains.

He shook her gently, careful not to scare her further but Cassie didn't wake.

"Cassie, come on love, wake up." He urged, nudging her with more force.

Cassie still didn't wake, only tossing and turning more violently.

"Cassie, you need to wake up." He said for a final time, shaking her slightly too hard as she woke this time.

Her hand flew to his face, out of instinct splitting his lip, as a choked cry escaped her mouth.

Cassie left his bed quickly without a word, escaping to the bathroom as he followed, throwing up.

Harry stood helpless, holding her hair back as Cassie sat pale and shaky.
