As Cassie and Effie fled, a feeling of exhilaration overwhelmed them both.

In the space of her a few hours, Cedric had died, Voldemort had returned, her father was infront of her for the first time in over 13 years and now they were running through corridors looking for a way out.

None of it felt real.
Cassie couldn't let any of it feel real.

Back in the hospital wing, the spell Cassie had performed began to wear off.

"What the bloody hell was that!" Ron exclaimed.

"Her mother's magic." Sirius stuttered, the pain still consuming each nerve on his body.

"Her mother's magic?—" Hermione began, but was cut off by a furious Harry.

"You should've told her." he said. "I told you, you should've told her months ago! Why didn't you just listen?"

"Harry, none of us could've seen this coming." Dumbledore said.

"I did! I knew she wouldn't take it well, no one listened! Cedrics now dead, and Cassie's god knows where!"

"Harry, calm down. She can't be far. It's impossible for a student to leave." Sirius said naively.

He should've know better, after all he is a marauder.

It was in-fact, not impossible.
It was quite easy actually.

"You ready?" Cassie laughed.

"Definitely." Effie smirked.

The two ran down the one-eyed witch passage, their laughter ricocheting off the walls. Once they reached the trap door that led into Honeydukes, the real adventure began.

They opened the door quickly, making sure they were as quiet as possible.
Luck was on their side, the shop owner was just beginning to open the shop meaning they wouldn't have to break out.

It was far too easy. They practically walked right in front of her eyes, yet she saw nothing.

Once they were free on the streets of Hogsmeade, they had to be quick.
The Professors could realize they were gone any second now, and someone could spot them wandering down the streets before the sun had even risen properly.

The train back to Kings Cross wasn't due to come until July third, which was over a week away. Even if they did choose to wait and take the train, they'd be spotted by everyone.

Cassie didn't want to face anyone. Dumbledore, her father, her friends and especially no other students.
What Cassie and Cedric had, whatever that was, was no secret. Many people knew, and the last thing she wanted was peoples pathetic looks of pity plastered across their faces.

In the moment it made no sense, Ron telling his mother that Sirius being there was, 'okay'.
To Cassie, he was still a mass murderer. He was the reason Harrys parents were dead, yet Dumbledore, Ron, Hermione and Harry were unfazed by his presence.

If Harry had no objections to him being there, Cassie realized that they had been lying to her. She wasn't sure what the lie exactly was, but she had ideas.
