Cassie hated the fact she cared so much about the boy who cared so little about her last year.
Her heart ached for him, when she wished so deeply it didn't.
She couldn't stand to see him hurting even after all the times he had hurt her.Once again she was torn apart by Harry Potter, feeling completely helpless and alone.
Last year she had Cedric and Effie by her side, now nobody.
She hadn't been able to get in contact with Effie since the two were separated by Moonys removal service as she liked to call it which only made her feel worse.
If Effie had got into any trouble for following Cassie around all summer she'd feel completely responsible. It came as no surprise to herself when she turned back to alcohol and drugs that night. Through everything, they were the only things she could rely on to never leave no matter what.
She could smell everyone's disappointment in her before she even emptied the packet onto the bathroom counter.
She hated cocaine, far too messy and the nosebleeds were horrendous yet before she knew it she was on her third line. She craved the way she felt whilst high, carefree and euphoric. Despite all of the shit happening around her, the coke made her happy.
Cassie concluded that no one noticed her struggles because all of their focus was on Harry and Umbridge.
Even after Cedric had died, everyone was more occupied with how he was doing after it all, not her.Everyone was always fucking worrying about Harry Potter.
Cassie finished the bag of coke, flushing the evidence down the toilet.
She was certain that this wouldn't be the last time it happened.Tuesday morning hit her like a bludger. Coming down from a coke high was excruciating and only made her crave another high even more than the last.
She procrastinated for what felt like hours before reluctantly getting up. As much as she was dreading a full day of classes, the repercussions for skipping weren't worth it considering her knowledge about Umbridges punishments.
Just like every other year, Cassie made sure her skirt was as short and tight as possible whilst many of the buttons on her shirt weren't fastened. Her tie hung loosely and was definitely tied incorrectly, not that she cared.Thankfully her first two lessons were Charms with Flitwick.
The poor man was too scared of Cassie to challenge her uniform choices and was almost certain the teen hated him.
Surprisingly that wasn't the case though,
Cassie had simply gotten bored with all of her teachers as there was nothing they could possibly teach her which she didn't know already. The full double lesson was spent revisiting the Wingardium Leviosa spell. Apparently, some people still hadn't grasped the concept of it despite the fact they first learnt it in 1991.
Double Transfiguration followed next with Minnie before lunch.Minnie sat Cassie and Harry at the back of the classroom together, optimistic that they'd rekindle their friendship.
Little friendship rekindling or learning took place as Harry was distracted easily by Cassie."Do you have to wear your skirt so short?" He asked lowly.
"Does it distract you Potter?" she smirked.
"You know it does." he grunted.
"Shame." Cassie shrugged, pulling the fabric even higher.
