To say the students in the third year Transfiguration class were miserable would be an understatement. When Minnie transformed herself into her cat animagus form, no one seemed to bat an eye lid and remained in their bitter mood.
"Really what has gotten into you all today?" said Professor McGonagall turning back into herself with a faint pop, and staring around at them all. "Not that it matters but that's the first time my transformations not got an applause from a class."
Everyone's heads turned to Harry, who was sat in the back row next to Cassie, but nobody spoke. Then Hermione raised her hand.
"Please, Professor, we've just had our first Divination class, and we were reading tea leaves, and-"
"Ah of course," said Professor McGonagall suddenly frowning. "There is no need to say anymore Miss Granger. Tell me, which one of you will be dying this year?"
Everyone stared at her.
"Me," said Harry finally.
"Ever the pessimist Potter, do you really think i'd let a silly death omen kill you before i do?" Cass joked.
The class went silent, all staring at her with wide eyes. Cass had completely forgotten that her father was in fact out to kill Harry and there were many rumors speculating that Cassie was his accomplice.
"Right yeah forgot it isn't the best time to make jokes about killing you when my deranged fathers after you. Calm your tits, I wouldn't dare harm a hair on Harrys little head!"
"Hang on! My heads not small." Harry argued suddenly feeling very self conscious about the size of his head completely ignoring the fact Cass said she would kill him.
"Well there's not exactly a massive brain inside that thick skull of yours." she teased.
"I'm sure you meant well Miss Black but perhaps we should refrain from making jokes about Mr Potters death for now." the Professor said interrupting the two.
"You know Potter, Sybill Trelawney has predicted the death of one student a year since she arrived at this school. None of them have died yet. Seeing death omens is her favorite way of greeting a new class. If it were not for the fact that I never speak ill of my colleagues-" Professor McGonagall broke off, and they saw that her nostrils had gone white. She went on more calmly, "Divination is one of the most imprecise branches of magic. I shall not conceal from you that i have very little patience with it. True seers are very rare and Professor Trelawney..." she stopped again, the turned towards Harry and said, "You look in excellent health to me, Potter, so you will excuse me if i don't let you off homework today. I assure you that if you die, you need not to hand it in."
