It had been 18 hours and Cassie still hadn't moved.
Sirius never left her side once during it all.
Lily brought him cups of tea frequently, but he never touched one of them.

James had to pick Harry up from the Burrow, getting an earful of questions all day about where they went and why they all had to leave.

"Why won't anyone tell me anything?" Harry asked angrily.

James hadn't told him yet, he was waiting for Lily, she would know how to.

"Because, there's nothing to tell Harry. It's adult business." he replied vaguely.

If James told him now, he would rush over to Sirius' house in an instant which wouldn't be good for anyone.
Sirius didn't need an emotion driven Harry right now, and Cassie was certainly in no fit state for him either.

"Adult business." Harry scoffed. "Was facing Voldemort in a graveyard something children regularly do?"

"You're right, it's not and you shouldn't of had to that. We will tell you when it's right Harry, but until then, wait for your mum to get home. It's Christmas, let's enjoy that."

"When's that?" he asked.

"I'm not sure." James sighed.

Thankfully, for both their sakes, Lily returned 10 minutes later.
James wasn't very good at keeping something from his son, so he returned back to Sirius' before he let something slip accidentally.

"How is she?" he asked, shaking his coat off.

"The same." Remus answered.

"Right." James frowned. "Sirius, have you eaten yet? It's nearly four o'clock."

"Hmm? Oh, no." Sirius shrugged from Cassie's side.

"You need to eat mate, i'll make you something."

James rummaged through the cupboards in the kitchen, trying to find some food.
All there really seemed to be was ketchup and chocolate.
Finally, he spotted left over Chinese take out at the back of the fridge, it wasn't the best option, but certainly more appetizing than chocolate dipped in ketchup.
James warmed it back up, stealing a prawn cracker for himself before giving it too Sirius.

"Here." James said passing the plate.

"Thanks." Sirius replied, placing it down.

He spent the better part of an hour, pushing his food around on the plate, not touching a piece of it.

James had quickly ventured to the shop grabbing milk, bread, fruit and anything else that made its way into his trolley while he was there.

Remus stayed behind, keeping an eye on Sirius and Cassie.
He didn't look good, Sirius was filled with worry.
As relieving as it was for Cassie to be back with him, he was still incredibly worried.
All of the bruises, cuts and wounds were heartbreaking enough, never mind the story behind them. Sirius was scared for Cassie.

"Sirius, if you're not going to eat anything, atleast try and get some sleep. You've been awake since yesterday morning. You're exhausted." Remus said as he observed him.
