Sirius and Remus were on edge. Practically toppling off the side of a cliff with worry.

Cassie and Effie ran around Blackpool  just as recklessly as they used to do years ago, leaving Sirius and Remus to chase after them.

They had already raided the arcade (a muggle money lesson had to taught to Sirius in the process), pissed off tourists, rode the rides at Pleasure Beach one too many times and bumped into many coppers they used to know.
The latter was an uncomfortable situation for Sirius and Remus.

"Is Matron still a bitch?" Cassie asked, reminiscing as they now stood on the sea front, watching the waves crash.

"Wouldn't know." Effie shrugged. "The woman's never there, didn't see her once over summer and still haven't now."

"Maybe she's finally kicked it, and died in a bush somewhere." Cassie laughed.

"Doubt it." Effie replied. "The last thing she'd do is die and leave us to have a peaceful life. Give it a few weeks and she'll be back and tormenting us more than ever."

"I could always, you know..." Cassie hesitated.

"No Cass." Effie stated sternly. "She's a bitch, but you're not a bloody murderer!"

"Well, technically—"

"For fuck sake Cassie, they were trying to kill us at the bloody Ministry. Then again at the Weasleys. You know theres a war there, but here, it's different. You don't just go around killing people." Effie sighed.

"Well i'm glad you can separate the two lifes." Cassie scoffed. "Not all of us just get to walk away without a second thought each summer."

Cassie and Effie rarely argued, it wasn't like them, but when they did it never ended pretty.
By now, people had begun to stare, and Sirius and Remus were already on their way over.

"You know that's not what I meant!"

"Of course it wasn't." Cassie laughed hysterically. "You're welcome, by the way."

Effie stood blankly, unsure what to make out of the situation. One minute they were having fun and joking about Matron, the next Cassie had flipped.

"Do you not even remember?" Cassie scoffed. "The night at the Weasleys, I saved you from the Death Eaters, and what did i get for it? Half a year of fucking torture. It wasn't worth the effort now i think about it."

Sirius was working on not micromanaging every inch of his daughters life, but he couldn't stand back any longer and hope they resolve things whilst so openly exposed in public.

"Cass, remember where you are." Sirius urged as he stood next to his daughter, hoping a scene wouldn't unfold.

Taking his daughter on a day out without telling Dumbledore was one thing he could deal with, but having her expose the whole Wizarding community was a slightly more difficult task to fix.

"Why should I?" Cassie asked. "Effie clearly didn't remember where I was when she was enjoying her life. Tell her how James found me. Every gory detail."

"Of course I remembered what happened. I still feel guilty about it every day Cassie!" Effie said shakily, on the verge of tears.

"It's funny how you're never the one to suffer."

"It's always a completion with you isn't it? Have you ever stopped to think that maybe, I just don't put myself in stupid situations where I end up nearly getting killed." Effie hissed at Cassie.
