Reckless, careless and impulsive.

That would've been Cassie's summer summarized.

It was her way of dealing with the past year.
Her father still being on the run, learning she had an Aunt who wasn't evil, knowing her Professor as someone called Moony and her friends being conspicuously secretive.
She couldn't find a way to express how she felt healthily, so alcohol, cigarettes and multiple boys — who she forgets the names off — was her escape.

Sirius longed to have his daughter with him, for her to know the truth. He wanted nothing more than to be the one she went too if there was anything wrong, but he couldn't. He couldn't be that person as he was still on the run. There was so much he needed to say, needed to show her, but it wasn't possible and it infuriated him.
Cassie's childhood and Sirius' father hood had been ripped apart by Pettigrew all them years ago, and still was being turned into ash by his actions.

Cassie drank to forget.
She wouldn't say she had an alcohol issue, she'd never admit to anything being wrong, just that she'd always be down for a party. It wasn't as if she craved the need for alcohol 24/7, she just favored the way everything melted away compared to when she was sober.
All she ever wanted was a normal life, but it just kept getting more and more unpredictable.

Music blasted through Cassie's ears as she swayed to the rhythm.
Her and a few of the girls were in Cameron's house getting absolutely hammered.

The way the alcohol ran through her veins felt euphoric.
It gave her a sense of ease, like everything drowned away when she downed each bottle.

Though she was reckless before, she had reached a whole new level this summer.
She couldn't remember how many boys she had been with, let alone their names. Some people would call her 'easy' and use her to their advantage as Cass more than happily obliged.
Cass craved validation, and if it were in the form of sex with different boys, she'd accept it as atleast it was something.
She wasn't proud of what she was doing, but she needed it, she was only 14.
She had stopped caring about the looks she'd get when her and Effie stumbled down the cobbled streets of blackpool, dresses riding high up their thighs. The thrill of the night meant more than others petty stares.

The new Matron never noticed several girls' disappearances each night, and even if she did, she wouldn't do much about it.
It was both a blessing and a curse for Cassie. The new freedom she had made her feel free sometimes, however what she really needed was guidance. Someone who would show her the right path, help her find herself and most importantly help her live life; not just survive it barely.
