The Yule Ball was due to take place on the 25th December, Christmas day. Currently it was the 22nd, and Cass was still without a date. Worst case scenario, she could always attend the ball with Effie, but she'd much prefer to be Cedrics date.
Harry and Ron were going to be taking the Patil twins as their dates, Hermione had her mystery man whilst Cassie -for now, hopefully- was dateless.
With Harry and Cassie on good terms once more, chaos could resume.
Many had naively presumed over the years that being close friends with the Weasley twins and Cassie would automatically give them a free pass from endless pranks; they couldn't be more wrong.
The three trouble makers doted on pranking and tormenting the people they call family, blood or not. The full Weasley clan were always falling victim to a prank of some sort, intentional or not (the occasional experiment gone wrong always ended up affecting one of the gingers.) Harry was one of the trouble makers main targets. Despite defeating and evading Voldemort, he could never out run a prank Cassie had planned much to her satisfaction. The Professors were one of their favorites to prank. Whether it would be Snape in a fit of rage or Dumbledore discreetly helping the three pull whatever they had planned off, it always guaranteed a good time.
Cass figured that there wasn't much point in sitting around hoping for Cedric to come chasing after her, and that her time was better invested elsewhere.
A wise idea would be to catch up on the mountains of overdue work and essays she had, but since when was anything Cassie did wise.
Cass grew more and more curious about the odd magic she could do. No one else could create their own spells within seconds and be able to perform them successfully. If that wasn't odd enough, recently Cass discovered she could make anyone and anything do as she says without putting them under the Imperius Curse. She wasn't completely sure if she was actually doing it, or merely imagining it so dragged Effie into the Forbidden Forest to be certain.
"Hold on," Effie said, completely baffled as Cassie had just told her what she could do. "so you can create your own spells and now you think you can control people?"
