Once again, Cassie and her lunatic father was all the school were talking about.
The Fat Lady's ripped canvas had been taken off the wall and replaced with the portrait of Sir Cadogan and his fat gray pony. Nobody was very happy about this. Sir Cadogan spent half his time challenging people to duels, and the rest thinking up ridiculously complicated passwords, which he changed at least twice a day.
"He's a complete lunatic," said Seamus Finnigan angrily to Percy. "Can't we get anyone else?"
"None of the other pictures wanted the job," said Percy. "Frightened of what happened to the Fat Lady. Sir Cadogan was the only one brave enough to volunteer."
Sir Cadogan, however, was the least of Harry's and Cassie's worries. They were both now being closely watched. Teachers found excuses to walk along corridors with them, and Percy Weasley - acting, Harry suspected, on his mother's orders - was tailing them both everywhere like an extremely pompous guard dog.
Cassie had only met Mrs Weasley twice, each being very short encounters on the platform whereas Harry had stayed with them at the Burrow. Molly had essentially taken both children in over the past few years always making sure they got a famous Weasley jumper at christmas and occasionally sending a few owls checking up on them. Cassie and Molly grew close over regular letters. Cassie had never really had a motherly figure in her life, and Molly had so much motherly love to give out they bonded quickly.
Harry and Cassie were now on their way to Defense Against the Dark Arts accompanied by a very stressed Oliver Wood who was giving Harry match tips for the Quidditch match tomorrow. Due to Oliver's rambling, the two third years were now 10 minutes late.
They skidded to a halt in front of the classroom door. Cassie made quite the entrance, slamming the door open causing a few people to jump, Harry included.
"Sorry we're late, Professor Lupin."
But it wasn't Professor Lupin stood behind the desk, it was Snape.
"This lesson began 10 minutes ago, Potter, Black. I think we'll make it ten points from Gryffindor, each. Sit down."
Neither of them made any attempt to sit down.
"Where's Professor Lupin?" Harry asked.
"He says he is feeling too ill to teach today." Snape said with a twisted smile. "I believe I told you both to sit down?"
