Sirius wasn't exactly sure of what he was doing as he and Cassie took the floo network back home.
He was more than aware of Dumbledores threats, but that was not getting in his way.
Everyone knew Cassie should not have returned to Hogwarts this soon.
Naively he thought she would adjust, but tonight's affairs made it crystal clear that she wouldn't.
"So what's the plan now?" Remus asked Sirius quietly, as he joined them.
"We wait for Dumbledore to show up. James is speaking to him now." Sirius replied, none of them fully thinking the plan through.
"I could always get rid of the problem." Cassie shrugged from the sofa. "He cant exactly make me do anything if he's dead."
"No!" Both Sirius and Remus screamed from the other side of the room.
Apparently Cassie killing Dumbledore was not on the agenda, although James might.
He was having trouble getting Dumbledore to understand, or even listen to his concerns as the two men spoke in his office.
"Albus, you didn't see her. Hogwarts is not the place for Cassie right now." James expressed.
"I happen, to disagree." Dumbledore replied calmly. "An education here is exactly what shall help Cassie excel."
"You wasn't there when I found her, she was unrecognizable. You wasn't at Malfoy Manor either when we carried out the raid. You didn't have to see the horror of an environment she endured, never mind the people who treated her like that. Draco Malfoy saw her there, did you know? He knew where Cassie was, he knew what they were doing to her and he remained silent. Earlier today, Draco taunted her about what she had gone through. Tonight, Harry had to drag her to my office whilst she was still reliving a nightmare she experienced for 6 months of her life. She needs to rest Albus. Cassie needs to heal and this isn't the place for that, at home is."
"I understand James, but Hogwarts is the safest place there is. Cassie will do just fine here."
"But she isn't. She isn't doing fine here."
James must've been causing a commotion, or maybe Mcgonagall just had a sixth sense as she came walking into Dumbledores office, still dressed in her nightgown.
"I'm sorry to intrude at this hour Albus, but I must agree with Professor Potter here. Cassie needs to heal." McGonagall spoke.
"And she will heal. Here, whilst continuing with her education as required."
"I hate to talk so negatively about our students, especially Cassie, however her grades in recent years have not been the best due to unavoidable circumstances. The likelihood of Cassie being able to adjust here at Hogwarts again, and do well in her classes which she previously failed are slim. Cassie is, and always will be a bright girl, but have you ever taken a second to think that Hogwarts isn't best suited for her." McGonagall said fondly, always having a soft spot for Cassie.
Dumbledore couldn't quite believe what was happening.
He had expected protests from Sirius, and wasn't blind to the fact James too would have his own, but he did not predict Minerva sharing the same views as his former students.
"So what are you both suggesting?" He asked. "Cassie to not ever return to Hogwarts. I do not see how that is even plausible."
"That doesn't have to be the answer Albus, she just needs time. I overheard some of the Aurors after the raids, they said it was the worst they had ever seen. I'm sure Cassie will be ready to return soon, but expecting her to have the same achievements as her class mates is not fair."
