Ch 175: A Request

Lin Ye stares at Exusiai, and Exusiai stares back at him.

*Cough*

"Sorry. What did you just say?" Lin Ye asks.

Exusiai smiles awkwardly, "Well, boss... I just can't help you."

Exusiai pulls Lin Ye's hand away and sits back down. She sighs, "Boss, you probably know how precious guns are. Even in Laterano, not everyone has a gun."

"But you obviously have more than one."

Exusiai looks away and mumbles, "I only have one."

She scratches the back of her head and says, "Uh... the others were borrowed. I returned them right after the mission because they cost so much to rent."

"I have always wanted more, seven, eight, nine, ten... But I can't afford them."

Lin Ye leans back like a deflated balloon, "Is there really no way for you to sell a gun to me?"

Exusiai spreads her hands and shrugs, "As I said, I don't have any extra guns. But boss, why are you asking me? Because I'm from Laterano?"

"Just kidding." Exusiai grabs the whole plate, "But thanks for the pie."

While chatting with her, Lin Ye notices how much Exusiai likes apple pies. He says, "You really like apple pies, don't you? Speaking of which, I know someone who really likes pineapple buns."

"Is that so?" Exusiai tilts her head, "Interesting. Well, desserts are the best type of food in the world, especially apple pies."

If she changes "apple pies" to "pineapple buns," Exusiai would really sound like Nightingale. Both of them seem to be really passionate about sweets. Now that he thinks about it, Lin Yie can't really recall a meeting when Exusiai doesn't talk about apple pies.

Exusiai asks, "Boss, why do you have a sword?"

"What about it?"

"You didn't have that around when I met you." Exusiai ponders, "Aren't you a doctor?"

"You mean doctors can't use swords?"

"That feels... off." Exusiai smiles in a silly way, "Since you can already fight with a sword, why do you want to need guns?"

"Who would use a sword, if they can use guns?"

"That's not true, boss. You can reach greater heights with swordsmanship than using a gun." Exusiai says, "I have a partner who uses a sword. Unless I have eight guns, it's very difficult for me to beat her. She's super strong."

"Are swords faster than bullets?"

"Why not?"

"..."

Lin Ye is speechless, but when he really thinks about it, Terra wasn't Earth. Maybe swords really can be faster than bullets. Of course, in his case, he could only dream about it.

Anyway, there's nothing left to be said.

Lin Ye gives Exusiai his number in case she finds a way to get him another gun in the future.

Exusiai chuckles, "Jeez Boss, you're so stubborn. Fine. You have my promise. If I ever get my hands on another gun, I will let you know."

Before Lin Ye leaves, Exusiai says, "Boss, when will you be returning to Rhodes Island?"

"In two days, I think. What about it?"

"Well, it's just that my partner is going to your place in a few days."

"To Rhodes Island?"

"Yeah. Amiya invited us. As for the details, I'm not really sure.", Exusiai crosses her arms again, "It's just that my partner is really boring. If possible, could you take care of her?"
