Nightingale seems to have forgotten Lin Yie's promise. Or perhaps, the pineapple buns in his bag are too distracting. Everything else ceased to matter.

While Nightingale is eating the pineapple buns, Lin Yie pockets her coins.

He is a bit confused.

Why does this devil want to become a sugar mama?

Is it because of what I said last night? Is she really going to take care of me?

That's...

He feels a bit excited.

Of course, Lin Yie is not serious about the idea. In his eyes, she is just immature. If he really takes her words seriously, that's too perverted. When Nightingale is done eating, Lin Yie brings her to his office.

It is almost 2 PM.

Lin Yie looks back to the days he worked in Rhodes Island and realizes that he rarely went to work on time. He already lost count of how many days he showed up to work after lunch.

Fortunately, Rhodes Island hasn't done anything about it. Otherwise, all of his bonus would be gone within the first week, but it is not really his fault. Rhodes Island should have expected this when they gave Nightingale to him. After all, the little devil sleeps a lot. He is just giving in to her wish and forced to be late, right?

He repeats that thought several times to suppress his guilt.

When he is on the fourth floor, Lin Yie recalls the silhouette he saw, so he doesn't go into his office right away. Instead, he decides to knock on each door to check.

"I'm this floor's administrator. Is there anyone..."

"There is me."

Lin Yie rolls his eyes at Nightingale's interjection.

Because he is this floor's admin, he can open doors that are not locked with his keycard. After knocking on the door and waiting for a response, he opens it and goes inside. There is nobody in this room. He does the same thing again to the other rooms, and they all turn out to be empty.

"Am I really mistaken?" Lin Yie mumbles, "Or did they leave already?"

He walks back to his office and checks the system.

After looking through the records, Lin Yie smiles, "I knew I saw someone. She was here last night, and she left this morning."

He leans back on his chair, "Tsk, Amiya was right. This floor is full of weird, reclusive people."

Lin Yie may seem calm, but he is actually panicking. Well, who doesn't get creeped out when they find out they were watched by someone, even if there is no malice?

I guess I shouldn't stay in the office at night.

But Amiya gave him the admin status because she wants him to contact the residents on this floor. If he avoids his responsibilities, isn't that just betraying her trust?

Lin Yie feels really conflicted now.

Nightingale, on the other hand, doesn't care about what Lin Yie is thinking. The first thing she did after going inside his office was taking a nap on a cardboard box.

Lin Yie looks at his desk and then his office.

This place is really simple and crude. He doesn't even have the basic office supplies. What kind of office is this?

I guess I will ask Orchid where I can get some furniture.

But before that, he needs to work first. Wait, what can he do right now? There's nothing to do. He can't help but feel having three assistants is going to be excessive.

Lin Yie spins the pen in his hand and taps it on his notebook. The notebook is used to record each patient's progress of recovery, but it's mostly empty. He flips to the page for Nightingale. There are only a few words: "Steady recovery, and full recovery in sight." He looks at the sleeping devil. He wrote these words when he first found out about his new ability, but now, he is not so sure anymore.

Lin Yie sighs and changes the period to a question mark.

The other patient in the notebook is Ifrit, although he doesn't know if she is really his patient. Other than her bad temperament, he doesn't know what she really needs his help with, but Silence and Kal'tsit asked him to take care of her, so he put her name in the notebook as well.

And that's it. He has nothing left to do.

Dear God, please, give me the third patient already. And please keep their case simple, as simple as possible.

Perhaps his prayer is heard, as the door opens. Lin Yie opens his eyes as wide as possible to watch the furry girl in his dream walk inside his office. He makes sure that he won't miss any details.

But there is no furry girl, no girl at all.

"Doctor, are you available?"

Lin Yie's freezes.

.....Oh no
