So this is what happened.

Lin Yie looks down and watches Nightingale sleeping quietly on his lap. He sighs and leans backwards slowly to stretch. It is seven o'clock at night.

"It is already this late." Lin Yie mumbles, "Devils are too energetic, like huskies."

Four hours ago, Ansel instructed him to pick up Nightingale's medication, but Nightingale stopped him before he could go. Then, he spent all this time accompanying her until she fell asleep on his lap ten minutes ago.

Actually, it is not quite right to compare the little devil with huskies, at least the former is not as destructive. In fact, she is far quieter than most pets. She just ate buns and stared into space. She didn't initiate conversations with him, but if he were to leave her, she just grabbed his clothes, and her strength cannot be overlooked.

Translator's Note (Demonsama)

When Lin Yie compares Nightingale with huskies, he uses the word "拆家," which basically refers to pets' behaviours when they destroy things. Think of cats scratching sofas and playing with toilet paper for example. However, these destructive acts don't include actual violence or anything dramatic.

His sleeves are torn, and he is still wearing the gown. Hopefully, Ansel won't ask him for compensation.

"Good work today."

Lin Yie turns around and sees Shining next to him. She gives him a cup of tea.

"Thanks." Lin Yie accepts the tea, "It was fine."

"Really? Why do I feel you are struggling and exhausted? Was taking care of Nightingale that tiring? You seem like you would collapse es at any time by now..." she asks worryingly.

"Not really. I didn't do much, and she doesn't seem to need my care anyway. It is just that she doesn't want me to leave her. I think that she just hate to be alone..."

As to why he seems to be struggling and exhausted... No sh*t, Sherlock. For a young man of the modern era, that was a good four hours without mobile games or the internet.

Why wouldn't he be struggling and exhausted? He envies those hermits who can play their games all day. All he did was watch a devil eating her buns and staring into space, before staring into space himself as well. Although she is good-looking, and her body is great, he is already tired of seeing it.

(Next time when this happens, I have to bring a phone. It is better than devil girls that don't say a word to you. I am so jealous of those hermits that can live without any entertainment.)

Of course, Lin Yie won't say that in front of the ladies. That just plain out rude.

"I am fine. It was like this when I worked in a pet hospital." Lin Yie says,

"I met a husky who was depressed because of constipation. I stayed with it for a night, and it got better the next day."

Shining gives him a weird look, "You mean Nightingale is a husky?"

Lin Yie realizes there is something wrong with his metaphor and hurriedly corrects himself, "Of course not, that was a metaphor. A metaphor."

Shining doesn't delve too much into the topic. She asks, "Ansel already gave that to you, right?"

"Um?"

"The sleeping medication." Shining says, "It should be in your pocket."

Lin Yie is surprised, "So you do know about it."
