Ch 151: Enter The Dragon

Lin Yie has watched the two ladies bicker with each other for twenty minutes straight.

He just wanted to help catch a thief, but not only did he get his ass kicked, but he also got arrested for doing that.

Lin Yie yawns slightly. In the beginning, he could somewhat understand what they were arguing about, but now, he has no idea what they are even saying anymore. The other officers have been working as if they have seen this too many times already.

In the end, Chen backs down first with a facepalm, "You're way too unreasonable. I'm not going to waste any more time with you."

"Pfft." Swire crosses her arms and turns her back to Chen.

Chen looks toward Lin Yie, "So, Dr. Lin, why are you here?"

"It was a misunderstanding."

"A misunderstanding?" Chen frowns, "With the LPD?"

Before Lin Yie can explain, an officer interjects, "This gentleman here groped Sir Swire's butt. That's why he got arrested."

"..."

Lin Yie glares at him in silence.

Chen raises an eyebrow and looks at Swire gleefully.

Swire snarls, "Bastard! You dare to slander me! Are you tired of living?!"

The officer lowers his head, "But-but that's what you said in the hall."

"You XXXXXXX!" Swire shouts, "Are your ears XXXX? You XXXX! He kicked my butt. He didn't grope... WTF! He kicked my back! My back!"

"Uh, real-really? I guess I heard it wrong." The officer picks up a stack of document and runs away, "I'll be bringing the reports to Madam Hoshiguma then. Have a nice day, Madam Swire."

"Don't let me see you again!"

*Cough*

Chen tries to keep things serious, but everyone can see she's struggling to hold her laughter back.

"Bitch, drop you act right now!"

"So, did Dr. Lin grope your ass?"

"Of course not!"

"That's it then." Chen nods and looks toward Lin Yie, "Since you didn't grope Madam Swire, that means she made a false arrest. Do you want to file a complaint? If you want to, you can always ask me for help. I can find the best lawyer for you and make her lose that uniform."

"Bitch!" Swire snarls as she glares at Chen.

"Maam... No, maybe I should call you Ms. Swire now." Chen says, "Do you have anything to tell me? If you do, be quick. Otherwise, you might not have the chance to tell me, when you leave the LGD."

Lin Yie wasn't stupid enough to actually file a complaint against Swire. If he did, he might not even be able to walk out of the LGD alive.

But he didn't want to be forced to keep watching them bicker. He hadn't even had dinner yet.

He tries to resolve the conflict, "It's just a misunderstanding. Actually, Madam Swire and I are good friends."

"Who the fuck is your friend?" Swire refutes, completely missing Lin Yie's cue, "We just met!"

"Right. Right. We just met, and what happened was just a misunderstanding."

"What misunderstanding? You attacked a cop, and I arrested you. There's nothing wrong with that."

Chen chuckles, "It seems Ms. Swire doesn't know who Dr. Lin is. Do you know he's Mr. Wei's guest?"

Swire pauses. She looks at Lin Yie, "Mr. Wei's guest? What do you mean?"

"Dr. Lin is one of Rhodes Island's core members." Chen says, "He's also the friend of Mr. Wei's daughter."

Swire's eyes widen incredulously, "Really? Why didn't I hear anything about that?"

"A stay-at-home missy like you wouldn't know so much about the world." Chen says softly.

"Bitch, are you just going to mock me whenever you can?" Swire clenches her teeth. She crosses her arms and says coldly, "So what if he's Mr. Wei's guest? I respect Mr. Wei, but that doesn't mean I have to respect all his guests."

"That's true." Chen nods, "But you should still respect your future boss."

"Future boss? Bitch, what kind of bullshit is that?"

Lin Yie stared at Chen. She reminded him of Kal'tsit. Whenever she lies, she says it with a straight face.

Chen ignores Lin Yie's gaze, "You should know about Lungmen's partnership with Rhodes Island, right?"

"Yeah, so what?"

"And you know Mr. Wei's decision to further the cooperation." Chen grins, "Mr. Wei should have told you that Lungmen wants to send someone to station at Rhodes Island."

Swire pauses. She points at herself incredulously, "Me?"

"It hasn't been decided yet, but it's quite likely." Chen says, "By the way, your family doesn't oppose this idea. In fact, they actually seem to support it."

"Bullshit!" Swire snarls, "Why didn't they tell me?"

"Maybe you should be asking your family or Mr. Wei that instead." Chen says, "When it's been decided, they will tell you."

"Bitch! What are you trying to say?!"

"What I'm trying to say, is that Mr. Wei really values Dr. Lin's ability. He did promise that he would find an assistant for Dr. Lin here. Coincidentally, we also need someone to be stationed at Rhodes Island, so it's very likely that the two positions will be combined. That way, when you go to Rhodes Island, Dr. Lin, who you just arrested, will become your boss." Chen looks at Lin Yie, "Dr. Lin, if this bitch becomes your assistant, don't have mercy on her just because she's a woman. Her brain may be fried, but she's still a person."
