Ch 70: Meeting An Acquaintance

The next day, Rhodes Island operators that are in Lungmen receive the invitations to a charity party.

This is what Kal'tsit told Lin Yie before. He is going there with Nightingale. Originally, he wanted to bring Ifrit along as well, but she refused to be near him. Kal'tsit had to leave some medical staff behind to take care of her.

"I thought your relationship with Ifrit is pretty good." Kal'tsit says, "How come she rejected you so quickly?"

Lin Yie is embarrassed and speechless. He can only glare at a certain little devil.

The party is taking place in a luxurious mansion, and the transportation is taken care of by the higher-ups of Lungmen. When they arrive at the mansion, Lin Yie sees rows of expensive cars parked outside. The guests wear expensive clothes. Only Lin Yie and Co. dress differently: Kal'tsit is dressed casually without her usual lab coat, and Lin Yie is wearing his uniform from Rhodes Island. Well, that uniform is the best he has right now. As for Nightingale, she is still wearing her white coat, but when Lin Yie looks down, his mouth twitches.

Nightingale looks down at her socks. She says, "I didn't put them on backward."

"But." Lin Yie says, "One is black, and the other is white."

Nightingale looks down again and falls into thought.

"But one of my shoes is black, and the other is white."

Whatever. I doubt anyone will pay attention to that. And whatever beauties wear, it becomes fashionable. That point alone is enough.

Lin Yie shakes his head and walks towards Kal'tsit. Even though her clothes are casual, the impression she gives off doesn't change. Before he came, he asked her what he should wear and whether he should rent a suit, but she said technicians shouldn't worry so much about how they look.

However, Lin Yie is doomed to be disappointed. A family of three is walking towards them.

Lin Yie's mouth gapes wide when he sees them. They have antlers and angular faces like the dragons in his memory. Other than their heads, their bodies are very similar to ordinary humans. Well, they are also much taller.

The three people are Lungmen's ruler Wei Yenwu, his wife, and his daughter.

"Chen, these are my guests." Wei Yenwu lowers the pipe he had been smoking, "As the host, we need to treat them politely."

Lin Yie feels something is off. He doesn't know why Wei's daughter is so happy when she sees him. However, she does look familiar. When Kal'tsit introduces Lin Yie, the answer is revealed.

The girl grabs Lin Yie's hand. She points at Lin Yie and says, "Dad, this is the doctor I told you about!"
