Ch 65: Welcome to Rhodes Island

Lin Yie meets Kal'tsit again in her lab the next day. She seems to have hurried back overnight, and exhaustion is evident on her face.

"About what happened..."

Lin Yie shakes his head, "It's fine. We didn't lose anyone. So it doesn't matter."

"No, it matters a lot." Kal'tsit taps her desk, "Rhodes Island doesn't need support staff to fight. This is an accident. There won't be another time."

Kal'tsit sounds resolute.

Lin Yie just sighs in response. He feels that Kal'tsit deserves being a top executive in Rhodes Island. Her tone gives off a sense of power.

He is just a psychologist, not to mention he is an intern.

Kal'tsit puts a backpack on the desk and pushes it towards Lin Yie.

"This is?"

"We don't have a name for our psychology department, so you can just make one up. You will also be the top executive for that department with your own office."

Lin Yie pauses, "Is that my compensation?"

"If I say no, will you believe me?"

Lin Yie shakes his head, "No."

"Then, it is settled." Kal'tsit opens a folder, "Everything about you, or rather, everything we found out about you is here. Honestly, I held the same view as Nearl. Even though we managed to verify your ability, we didn't understand your past, which was why we couldn't let you manage this key position. Do you understand?"

Lin Yie smiles bitterly, "Yes, I do."

Lin Yie doesn't answer her question. It is not that he doesn't want to. He just doesn't think telling them the truth will do him any good. And Kal'tsit is not that determined to know his past like Nearl was.

If they want to tell us about their pasts, we will listen, but we won't force them, if they don't want to. Lin Yie nods.

Kal'tsit takes out a lighter and burns the folder in front of Lin Yie.

"We don't need this anymore." Flame engulfs the folder bit by bit. When the folder is completely destroyed, Kal'tsit throws its remains into the trash can. Then, she looks at Lin Yie again, "The person you are right now is who we need. Therefore, Dr. Lin, from now on, welcome abroad, really."

There is this wonderful feeling in Lin Yie right now. It is like his efforts finally paid off

He can't help but smile, "Thank you."

"It should be us saying thank you instead. Let us... Fine." Kal'tsit props her head up, "I will have Amiya say these cringy things. I can't do it. Anyway, she is on her way back."

Lin Yie takes the backpack.

So...... this is my first time doing these types of notes...

ok! First and foremost, to the people that are reading this fanfic, thank you!

This fic isn't writing but it is a translation from a popular Chinese fanfic of Arknights...

There is a team of people that is translating, editing it, and even rewriting it to be more understandable to the English audience.

I'm am a part of this team as you can already guess.

Demosama is the person that started all of this. He was the one that I found translating this fanfic and posting it on Reddit. I asked him if I can repost his translation on Wattpad and he said yes.

From that point on I post all of his translation on Wattpad and it got kinda big there,

But in one of his posts on Reddit, he asked if there is anyone else that could help him in his translation. And a team of 5 people, including me, was made.

So let me introduce them to you!

First is the big man! Demosama! He is the one that translating this fic from Chinese to English. An amazing guy.

Then, we got Tec! He is helping the editing and sometimes translation of this fic!

Next is PanzerComrade56! He is the one that helps make the fic more understandable!

Then there unreality6. They are the ones that rewrite the old chap to make it have a higher quality! For example, the first chap is done by him!

And there is me! My job varies. I sometimes help translating, editing, error finding, or even helping to rewrite the story!

I will post the rewritten version of the older chap at the same time as the newer chaps.
