TW : mentions of a gun and slicing? vinnie didn't realize how much of an impact it had on y/n and how she planned her adulthood.
ten years ago - senior year
narrative "where's vin?" y/n asks maddy while all the students stand infront of the school waiting for the graduation ceremony to begin. "i'm not sure."
y/n sighs and begins to overthink. he hasn't responded to any of her calls or texts. he sent her some weird text last night that threw her off. y/n needs to tell him something today. it's really important.
vin<33 last night
vin<33 i love you y/n. i'm serious. pls don't forget that even when things change.
y/n<3 ik v. i love you too. read
every student is now walking towards the football field, administration telling them where to sit, families and friends filling in the bleachers.
while that's going on, vinnie is packing his last bags. "vinnie, you have to go to your graduation. you have to say bye to your friends." mrs.hacker tells his son.
"i don't HAVE TO mom." "at least say bye to y/n, she deserves a proper goodbye." "i already said bye to her last night." the boy shrugs while bringing his bag downstairs.
"vincent, you're gonna go to this damn graduation and say bye or you can say it when the y/l/n family comes over for lunch and dinner."
"i'd rather do it when they come over." "okay vinnie." the mom sighs. she feels guilty that his son is moving and none of his friends even know about it. however, there's more to it that nobody knows about.
______
y/n's pov "WE DID IT!" liya hugs me, everybody joining making it a group hug. i force myself to smile, slightly sad at the fact vinnie isn't here. i dismiss myself from the group and hug my parents along with family.
"my little y/n graduated." my uncle hugs me as he slightly ruffles my hair.
_______
"you ready to go to the hackers?" my sister asks from my door. "i guess." "what's wrong y/n? shouldn't you be happy to see vinnie." she's now sitting down next to me on my bed.
"i don't know. he's been distant. he didn't even show up to graduation and i still have to tell him." i look at her as tears sting my eyes. "you haven't told him? y/n, you have to."
"i know and i will when we get to his house." she sighs and tells me i have to wear a dress. "why can't i wear what i'm wearing?" i question.
"ma said you have to wear something nice since you graduated. she did the same with me. now change!" y/s/n walks out the door.
i grab my blue print two piece and slip it on.
