narrative
y/n sits next to vinnie, quietly, while everybody else talks among themselves. a few people pick up on how quiet she is and glance at vinnie.
y/n and vinnie have been dating for the longest but some of his friends are intimidated by y/n.
"vinnie, is y/n okay?" troy questions making
y/n furrow her eyebrows. how come they ask vinnie how i'm doing and not myself? vinnie turns his head over and shrugs, "yeah she's fine. she's like this most of the time."
everybody just kind of looks at the couple not knowing why vinnie is with y/n and what he sees in her except for her looks. "imma go outside really quickly, i'll be back," y/n gets up now wanting to be near his friends. she can feel the weird tension and she doesn't like it, she's been feeling this way towards them for the longest.
"is she okay? she doesn't seem too nice vinnie. i'm sorry but she's always quiet and when she does talk she seems kind of... rude. you're personalities are completely different. she doesn't even get along with your own friends," thomas speaks up, everybody else humming in agreement.
"y/n is actually super nice when you actually get to know her. she's probably quiet because you guys haven't even made the effort to get to know her and can feel how you guys feel towards her. she's the nicest girl ever and her personality matches vinnie's," sienna defends on behalf of vinnie and y/n.
"but everybody sees her as rude and has a tough like attitude. even the fans think that! are we just gonna forget her past? vinnie cmon, you can do so much better than her. why would you want to be with someone like that?" michael adds on.
"that's her past. TWO-" vinnie cuts of sienna, "what does her past have to do with anything? if you got to know her you'd know why she did the things she did in her past. she's changed you know? i wouldn't be with somebody whos' personality is shitty. why do you even think i'd be with her?"
"i don't know, maybe her looks. her personality it shitty. you're just gonna forget all those people she used to fight. she used to be a fucking pothead," thomas finally saying what everybody's been thinking.
"okay? and she stopped smoking TWO almost THREE years ago along with fighting. like i said, maybe get to know her before you start treating my girlfriend like shit," vinnie gets up to go check on y/n.
"hey love." "hey vinnie." he gestures for y/n to get up, vinnie sitting in her spot before pulling her down on top on him. "why are you with me? none of your friends like me.."
y/n overheard their conversation considering they were kind of loud. "don't let them get to you. they can't have a say when they barley know you nor make the time to get to know you. i'm with you because i love you, you're a great person overall."
they sit there enjoying each other's company in silence. meanwhile, sienna and jack are going off on everybody else in the house. "she's always so quiet though. you can't blame us for not liking her."
"WHAT DO YOU NOT GET? SHE'S QUIET BECAUSE SHE'S SHY AND SHE CAN FEEL THE FACT THAT YA'LL DO NOT LIKE HER. I'D BE QUIET TOO. YOU GUYS ARE JUDGING HER FOR SOMETHING SHE WENT THROUGH. SHE'S STRONG AS HELL. BE HAPPY ALL SHE DID WAS SMOKE AND FIGHT PEOPLE BECAUSE IF IT WAS ME, I WOULD'VE DONE WORSE. GET TO KNOW THE GIRL BEFORE YOU JUDGE HER AND MAKE HER FEEL AS IF SHE ISN'T WELCOME," sienna yells at everybody, all of them getting quiet.
y/n can hear everything as well as vinnie. "it's okay. you're safe with me. that's your past, it doesn't determine the person you are now. don't think about it, think about something else," he calms the girl before she begins to get flashbacks.
"what if they're right. what if i do become that person again. everybody sees me as mean or 'tough'. vinnie, i cant let go of it. wherever i go, everybody mentions it."
he looks at his girlfriend sad knowing that his 'friends' words had an impact on her. she's been doing so well until they mentioned what she's been through.
"i know you all hear y/n crying right now. you can't act like she doesn't have feelings. i don't care if you think she's mean, she still has feelings. she changed if you haven't noticed. if you even had the slightest bit of empathy, you would see how soft and vulnerable she is with vinnie. have you not noticed how happy she looks, how happy he looks, how they're always laughing with each other. NO, you haven't because you're stuck on an image of her YOU made in your head," sienna goes on and on making jack take her out the room before things can get worse.
everybody else looks at each other as guilt washes over them. they can tell y/n is a nice person especially around vinnie. but the issue is that they always seen him with somebody else.
"come on, let's go get something to eat," vinnie gets up, y/n hesitating to enter the house again. "you're okay with me babe. we'll just walk in and leave. we don't have to say anything," he places a quick kiss on her forehead before going inside the house hand in hand.
all the members of the house look at the couple, sienna stopping them before they can leave, "unt unt you all are gonna apologize to y/n. for the past two years you've all treated her like shit."
"i'm sorry y/n. i shouldn't have made you feel like you're not welcome and judged you for your past. i also shouldn't have said all those things. maybe we can actually talk and get to know you more," thomas apologizes first.
"i'm also sorry for trying to ruin your relationship. it wasn't okay for me to do that at all and i understand if you don't wanna try to be friends or at least be on a talking basis. but i'm sorry y/n," michael apologizes next.
everybody else apologizing next, one after another. y/n never realized how many fucked up things vinnie's friends have done and quite frankly she's not too happy with it.
