y/n's pov
"are you ready?" vinnie asks me as i put on his sweatshirt. i nod my head and we walk down the stairs.
i walk out the door and the cold air instantly hits my face making me shiver. i feel vinnie pull me into the side of him as we walk to the beach. we always walk late at night every other day.
it's something we normally do to get time together and just talk without distractions. the walk to the beach is quiet for most of the time and we just enjoy each other's company for the 5 minutes.

we both sit on the sand and i lay my head on vinnie's lap. "y/n do you ever think we'll make it out of college still dating?" i look up at vinnie to see him staring at the ocean.
"yeah, i do. but i don't wanna jinx anything. why?" i ask due to the sudden question. "nothing i was just wondering. i really don't wanna loose you." he continues. "i know you can do better than me and honestly i don't wanna hold you back."
i sit up and grab his hand "vinnie, you're honestly not going to loose me and i don't care if i can do better. you're the best person i can ever be with."
he kisses my forehead and places my head back on his lap, playing with my hair. i can't help but notice that tonight vinnie is much quieter than usual.
"vin..." i say lowly. "hmm?" he hums in response. "what's wrong? you've been really quiet tonight."
i hear him sigh kind of making me worried.
"y/n.." he inhales. i sit back up and look at him. "y/n, we've been together since freshmen year of highschool and i know i have had bad boyfriend moments but i wanna promise you that i'll never hurt you and i'll stick but your side no matter what." he pulls something out his pocket.
is this idiot proposing... "i'm not proposing." he reads my thoughts. "it's a promise ring, i promise to never loose you and always try my best to be your boyfriend and bestfriend all in one." he says as he slides the ring on my finger.
i smile at the sight and wrap my arms around his neck. "do you like it?" "i do!" i muffle into his neck. "thank you" i say. "anything for you love." he kisses my lips.
as we pull away, i look into his eyes and honestly can see a future with this boy.
