tear drops fall onto my phone, a picture of vinnie and his new girlfriend displayed across the screen.
i look at vinnie after seeing his text messages with some girl with the contact name 'my love<3'. he looks at me with that smile i love so much. brown guilty eyes...
"hey babe, i have to spend time with my mom tomorrow and i know i said we'll spend time with each other but .. it's my mom" vinnie says across the dinner table. little white lies.
i nod slowly. yeah, i played dumb.

i can't help but keep scrolling the messages between the two of them. vinnie's currently in the shower and i know i'm invading his privacy but i have to do this. 'i had such a good time this week. say ur mom is coming over again :(. i wanna see you more !!' but i always knew that'd you'd talk to her, maybe even did worse.
the chances of them having sex and doing much more are there. tears prick at my eyes as i read more and more, my mind jumping to multiple conclusions. "hey y/n— what's wrong?" vinnie is quick to pull me into a hug. i kept quiet so i could keep you.

"vinnie tell me the truth.." he looks up from his phone, his smile falling. "hmm, what is it?" "are you cheating on me?" i get straight to the point. he frowns and turns off his phone "what the fuck are you talking about?"
i take a deep breath not wanting this to lead to an argument, i just want the truth and nothing more or nothing less. "are you cheating on me... with ashley?"
vinnie gulps quite harshly and i can tell he's trying to come up with a lie. "she's just a friend babe, you have nothing to worry about." and ain't it funny how you said you were friends?
the second attachment, both of them kissing with the scenery of a tropical beach in the back. now it sure as hell don't look like it. the doorbell rings making me get up and check who it is. as i look through the peephole i see vinnie. what does he want?
i open the door, his eyes low and sadness prominent in his face. "what vinnie?" "can we please talk? just- just give me five minutes, that's all."
i lean against the door frame waiting for another excuse to leave his mouth. "i'm sorry for everything and i know it doesn't make up for it, but i am sorry." i know you'll never feel sorry for the way i hurt.
"you're not sorry vinnie. you'd talk to her when we were together AND IT'S THE FACT i loved you at your worst but that didn't matter" i shake my head unamused.
"y/n just understand, there were no feelings at first.." i quickly cut him off, "but there are now, right? vinnie what the fuck is the point of you coming here? to tell me how deep in love you are with her because truthfully i don't care. don't waste my time any more than you already have."
he sighs and frustratedly runs his hands through his hair "WE WEREN'T EVEN TOGETHER AT THE TIME!" he begins to yell making me kiss my teeth.
"guess you didn't cheat but you're still a traitor. you show her off like she's a new trophy. we were on a BREAK vinnie because you said you were with your MOM and you needed to focus on a family emergency. YOU KNOW HOW LOW THAT IS VINNIE?!" i exclaim through tears.
"so all along i was just some joke to you? you lied, you were never with your mom and there was no family emergency.." i come to a realization, vinnie looking down at the confrontation. "SPEAK VINNNIE!"
"i can't control how i feel about somebody y/n. why can't you accept that? can't i be happy?" there's no damn way that you could fall in love with somebody that quickly.
"how long have you guys been together?" i question, vinnie instantly changing the subject. ain't it funny... all the questions you used to avoid?
i sit on the couch, burying my head in my hands. am i really that easy to replace? "i just find it so funny how when i brought it up and you told me i was paranoid." memories from the beginning of our relationship to the end of it run through my head.
"i'm sorry y/n, i genuinely don't want us to end on bad terms and i'm not saying we have to be friends but..." he huffs "i just love her and i know it's not fair but it's the truth. i didn't think you had such strong feelings for me..."
god, i wish you thought this through before i went and fell in love with you.
"yeah because it's not like we dated for two years and some bitch comes around that makes all those years and feelings go away. you know what vinnie, go with her, be happy. but don't you dare forget about the way you betrayed me."
