Mijat obviously expected this kind of question from the younger one, that's why he had tried very hard to think of an answer that would make sense without tears stinging his eyes, without his own feelings coming into this too much. Dejan cannot understand at the moment, he's too young to see the pain that still resides in his eyes despite him being now a Hoffenheim player. Dejan cannot understand that his own decision is hurting him and that leaving Frankfurt after all these years is not for fun. It's not his fault that he doesn't want to stay on the bench any longer, it's not his fault that he is only seen as a substitute. But Dejan's voice is broken, Mijat knows he has cried before, and that he will continue to do so, even when he is no longer there. He can feel his heart fall in his chest, he doesn't want to leave, not like this, not now... But he has no choice.
''Because I have to, baby. I'm sorry.''
