{college au again, because I'm a simple man. This is pretty far along in their relationship, a point where they are more casual around eachother rather than flustered and bashful or whatever idk}

Leorio sneezed into a tissue, wiping up his runny nose. He didn't feel too great, but that wouldn't stop him from studying. Nothing could.

The door opened, and Kurapika stepped in, wiping his shoes on the welcome mat. Then he left his shoes and coat at the door, and made his way to Leorio's room.

"Welcome home, pika." Leorio coughed into his elbow.

"My goodness, are you sick?" He approached the desk Leorio sat at, then held the back of his hand to the older man's forehead. He then touched both hands to Leorio's throat, checking his temperature. "I knew it, you're burning up."

"No, I'm fine." Leorio excused weakly. "It's nothing to worry about."

Kurapika laughed. "You're starting to sound like me, you know."

"Ah shut up." Leorio rolled his eyes.

"You shut up, and get in bed." Kurapika pulled his chair back and away from the desk, then pulled Leorio up and out of the seat.

"But I don't wanna." Leorio whined. "I have to study or I won't pass the class!"

"Come on, you big baby." Kurapika finally managed to get the taller man in bed, even though his reluctance made it quite difficult. "There. Now get comfy, I'm going to brew some tea."

"Tea?" Leorio asked.

Kurapika stood in the doorway and placed a hand on the wood lining, reminiscing on his childhood. "It's what my mother made me when I used to catch a cold. I was almost always sick during the winter time, so she made it quite often."

"Oh." Leorio got quiet. He was contemplating.

"I'll be back soon." The blond left the room. "Feel free to call me if you get too lonely."

Almost immediately, Kurapika's phone buzzed. He answered it with a tired smile. "Leorio?"

"I'm lonely."

"I'm literally just down the hall- I can see you from here." He turned and waved sarcastically.

"I miss you!" Leorio called out the door.

"I'll be back soon." Kurapika rolled his eyes and went to the kitchen.

He pulled out the ingredients while the kettle heated up on the stove. He used a stone bowl and grinder to turn the herbs into powder so it would mix better, then added them to a small pot. He mixed in lemon juice, and a bit of honey, then poured the boiling water in as well. As he did all this, Leorio blabbed in his ear about his studies.

Kurapika whispered a simple prayer as he stirred the pot, praying to the kurtan elders to bless Leorio with wisdom and good health. The prayer was in Kurtish, so Leorio was left asking a million questions about what was going on. None of which were answered.

Kurapika poured some into a mug and set the pot on the stove to simmer. Then he brought it back to the sick man, finally hanging up the phone.

"So, you never answered my questions." Leorio took the steaming potion gratefully, and carefully sipped. "What were you muttering back there?"

"Oh. Um. It was a prayer."

"A prayer? You believe in god?"

"Not like you do. My village used to worship the Mother Nature, and her many gifts. Many of our elders studied rituals to be her disciples and we worshiped them in her place. We prayed to our elders, petitioning them to represent us before the goddess."

"Hmm. And what did you pray for?"

Kurapika looked away bashfully. "For the herbs to help you to get better. And for you to be blessed with wisdom for your upcoming tests."

"Aww, pika." Leorio put a hand on top of the blond head. "That's so sweet of you."

Kurapika was blushing. "It was nothing. I don't even know if it'll help at all."

"But knowing that you were reaching out to a higher power to help me? That means so much to me." Leorio caressed his cheek. "You must really care about me."

Kurapika pushed the hand away and rolled his eyes. "You wish, doctor try-hard."

Leorio laughed. "Maybe I do wish, sunshine."

"What? You were supposed to insult me back." Kurapika said. "That's a term of endearment."

"I know." Leorio leaned forward and touched their noses together. "I said what I meant."

Kurapika leaned into him, kissing his lips gently.

"Thank you, Kurapika. I really do appreciate it."

Kurapika sighed. "You're welcome."

Leorio drank he rest of Kurapika's mystery tonic, and fell asleep soon after. Kurapika spent a couple of minutes cleaning up Leorio's room for him, knowing that a clean environment promotes organization and boosts mental health. He wrote the docter a couple of love poems on sticky notes, and hid them on the pages of the books he had been studying.

After closing the blinds and turning out the lights, Kurapika left his lover to rest and recover.
