Part two of 'coworkers'

Kurapika started his lines by introducing the customer to the restaurant and asking them what they would like to order. Then everything went south.

"Kurapika?"

"...Leorio?"

"Oh my god!" Leorio laughed through the speaker. "What a coincidence!"

"Leorio, it's rude to stalk me while I'm at work. This is harassment."

"No! No, I actually like the food here I'm not just here to bother you!" Leorio plead. "But um... can I get my usual?"

Kurapika knew what he meant. So he rang him up and told him to pay at the window.

"Kurapika, is that your boyfriend?" Akemi asked.

Kurapika glanced over, suddenly anxious. Akemi was not a nice coworker. She was bratty and selfish, and judgmental and creepy. She'd probably been gossiping with Jason.

"He's not my boyfriend." Kurapika said.

"I'm his boyfriend!" Leorio yelled into the drive thru window. He had pulled up without anyone noticing, and had heard Kurapika's answer. He burst into laughter when the blond man whipped around to look at him.

"Leorio. Not. Helping." Kurapika warned. He glanced back at the others, and everyone seemed to have gone back to their jobs. "Give me your money."

"Give me a kiss." Leorio smirked.

"Now why would I do that?" Kurapika leaned against the window frame.

"You're my boyfriend..." Leorio said slowly. "Remember?"

"I don't want to lie to my coworkers anymore. One time with Jason was funny, but now he's told everyone." He checked over his shoulder, and sure enough, there were a couple of people stealing glances. Kurapika leaned in closer to whisper. "I don't like the way everyone looks at me now."

"Kurapika?" Leorio whispered. The blond turned, and came nose to nose with the doctor. "If they're looking at you, then just look at me."

The warm breath brushing his face made Kurapika's brain melt. Wow. Had he ever felt this kind of closeness before? Had he ever been so tempted to kiss someone before?

"Just one kiss?" Leorio asked quietly.

"Just one." Kurapika confirmed.

The doctor closed the distance between their lips, connecting them in a sweet kiss. It was warm, and fulfilling, and everything Kurapika had hoped for. He didn't want it to end? What has gotten into me?

He leaned away, breaking the kiss. "Um. We are definitely going to talk about that later."

"Absolutely." Leorio said, his eyes half lidded and his face lifted in a dreamy smile.

"See you tomorrow, Dijame!" Kurapika called, clocking out and leaving the restaurant.

Akemi was watching him from one of the lobby tables, sipping idly at her drink as she glared. Kurapika noticed.

He got to his car and sat in the front seat. For a moment he just sat there. So many feelings were tumbling around inside of him.

He didn't like the way everyone looked at him, and the disgust in their eyes. If they're looking at you, then just look at me.

Leorio had kissed him. Kissed him. It was tender and gentle and oh so lovely. Kurapika still couldn't believe it. It was just a cover story, right? Leorio only did it to make Jason leave Kurapika alone... right?

The blond man walked through the front door of the apartment. Usually he would go straight to his room and change out of his uncomfortable uniform. He'd never liked wearing skinny jeans.

Leorio was sitting on the couch, waiting for him. He smiled awkwardly. "Hey, uh... do you have time to talk?"

Kurapika swallowed. His voice came out small and close to tears. "Why would you do that in front of all my coworkers?" He was asking himself more than anything. "They're going to hate me now. They're gonna know."

"Hey, I'm sorry if I took this whole 'fake boyfriend' thing a little too far, I will totally dial it back. No more kissing, and I won't visit you at work-"

"I liked it." Kurapika had his eyes shut. He felt embarrassed- ashamed, even- that he'd liked their fake kiss. But it had felt so real. So wonderful and new. He was embarrassed because Leorio was just joking around, it didn't mean anything to him.

"Are you serious?"

"Yes." Kurapika hung his head. "I- the kiss. I liked it. Leorio, I'm really-"

He was interrupted by the other man suddenly launching himself across the room and scooping him up. Leorio was laughing- head thrown back, full chest laughing.

"Kurapika! Oh my god I'm so relieved." Leorio set the confused man on his feet and looked him in the eyes. "Did you really like it? Like how much? On a scale of one ten?"

Kurapika was taken aback. "What?"

"I have been making moves on you for weeks. I made up that fake boyfriend thing because I want to be your actual boyfriend. I want it to be real." Leorio gushed. "Is... is that okay?"

Kurapika laughed once, then threw his arms around Leorio's neck and tugged him into another kiss. This kiss was rather sloppy, both boys were laughing and smiling too much.

Finally, after all the giggling subsided, they simply hugged each other tightly, neither one truly believing their luck.

Leorio finally put him down, and Kurapika led him over to the couch again where he sat down and opened his arms for the larger man. Leorio collapsed on him, setting his head on the smaller man's chest and taking in a deep breath of his scent.

Kurapika brushed his fingers through Leorio's hair, smiling to himself. They had been in the same highschool, but had spent those years teasing each other relentlessly. Then when Kurapika's adopted mom passed away, Leorio was the only one he could turn to. They became close after that, and went to the same university to finish their Gen-ED's.

After all that time together, it seems that their bond had become more than familial.

Leorio lifted his head to look Kurapika in the eyes, then gently leaned forward and kissed him again. Slow, a bit sensual, and sweet.

Oh, I could get used to this.
